Epic views, superb humans, great stories for years.

Awesome experience with a ton of value. The people are exceptional and the tour is well organized across a variety of great activities and beautiful locations. The food, the culture, the history, and the physical spaces are all rich. Knowing Spanish isn’t necessary for your enjoyment, but knowing some and being curious with your guides will gain you a much more memorable experience. They’re all kind and keen to help. This is a family-operated business with long-term friends and partners involved, all of whom are too notch humans. Get to know them beat you can.

Response from the operator: It's a great pleasure for us to know that this family experience meets all your expectations. As a family, we simply give our best with all our love and simplicity. Best regards. Carlos y toda la familia

    Authentic Experience of Cerro Kennedy

I did the Cerro Kennedy 2-day tour and absolutely loved my experience. I felt fulfilled and appreciative to have experienced such a unique, authentic Colombian adventure. The entire trip was incredible private, just 3 of us in the group and no other tourists in sight. Day 1: Carlos, our guide & founder of WiMake Tours drove us to a local farm where we learned about all things coffee. From there, he parked his truck and we started on a small, but steep 3km hike to his family farm - Finca Santa Elena. His mother welcomed us with open arms and made sure our tummies were continuously full. If you're lucky - you can catch the sunset. Day 2: We woke up just before sunrise and was greeted by Carlos’ mother with a warm cup of coffee. This was one of the highlights - the view was absolutely incredible. After a very filling breakfast of huevos revueltos, arepas and pancakes we headed the 5km hike to the summit. The trek occurs on private land making it a bit more tough than normal for footing because it isn't traversed as often as usual trails. The first half was a steady incline and the second was quite steep. It was nice at the summit because it wasn't too cold or windy so we could stay up there for quite a while and marvel at the view. Carlos gave us a chocolate bar and granadilla fruit. Then, we headed back down to the farm where lunch with a celebratory beer was waiting. After lunch, we headed back down 3km to the truck. I highly recommend this experience. You don't need to be tip-top shape BUT it will help. The hikes are short, but very steep. Bring warm clothes for the night and a good pair of shoes will help your descent. I only had a pair of trail runners, which thankfully had some grip but I would of loved to have had my full hiking boots.

Trekking Cerro Kennedy 2 days: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santa Marta.

How much does Trekking Cerro Kennedy 2 days cost?

    +

Prices start at $611 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santa Marta usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Trekking Cerro Kennedy 2 days take?

    +

Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santa Marta is not rushed.

Is Trekking Cerro Kennedy 2 days worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 78 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 49 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Santa Marta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Trekking Cerro Kennedy 2 days?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Trekking Cerro Kennedy 2 days suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Trekking Cerro Kennedy 2 days?

    +

Around 17 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santa Marta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santa Marta and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Trekking Cerro Kennedy 2 days start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santa Marta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Santa Marta?

    +

On Outty we rank every Santa Marta experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hike for 4 days to the Lost City, Santa Marta, 4-Day Lost City Small-Group Tour in Santa Marta, 4-Day Walking Tour to Lost City of Sierra Nevada. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Santa Marta?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Santa Marta?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
