    Human quality and impeccable service

Our sailing experience was simply fantastic. Cristophe, the owner, and Carlos, the captain, provided top-notch service, but what really made the difference was their human quality. They were extremely understanding and provided everything to make the experience extraordinary and personalized. The sailboat is amazing, but its close treatment and professionalism is what will bring us back. Fully recommended!

¡Siempre serán bienvenidos a bordo!

    Amazing experience

Amazing day with VelaDelMar We loved everything! Friendliness of staff and service 5 stars We went to a place where there were no other sailboats, they have all the equipment to enjoy (paddle, snorkel, floats...) The sailboat is very comfortable and fits quite a lot of people We were lucky enough to see an amazing sunset when we returned Highly recommended, thank you very much for this magical experience 🫶

Response from the operator: ¡Muchas gracias, Paulo, por tu mensaje! Nos alegró mucho tenerlos a bordo y saber que disfrutaron del tour en velero con nosotros. Será un placer recibirlos nuevamente cuando quieran vivir otra experiencia en el mar.

Cancelled less than 90 minutes prior to departure

Booked the trip night before. Next day just before 1 pm receive a message on WhatsApp asking when I booked it. They claimed they hadn't received an email and would have to cancel. This was my last full day in Santa Marta and ruined plans for the day. Could not rebook later in the week. Review is so others are aware of the risk. I think at the time they cancelled Trip Advisor was still showing that day as available. Obviously there is an issue in the way the tour is setup either on Trip Advisor or with the company. Company claimed they normally needed 48 hours advance notice but again that's not stated anywhere on the page. So page needs to be revised and the scheduling system needs revised.

Response from the operator: Dear Ray, we are so sorry for this inconvenient and understand perfectly your comment. Indeed, our policy (for both day trip and afternoon trip) is a minimum of 48 hours advance notice to book the trip. We are now investigating with Viator/Tripadvisor why you have been able to book the trip on the website only 12 hours before so that this will never happen again in the future. Once again, please accept our excuses and we hope, if you come back to Santa Marta, to do this trip together (we will make it special!) so you can give us a 5 stars comment like the other clients did.

Trip (half day) in a Private Sailing Boat in the Tayrona Park: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santa Marta.

How much does Trip (half day) in a Private Sailing Boat in the Tayrona Park cost?

    +

Prices start at $1,300 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santa Marta usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Trip (half day) in a Private Sailing Boat in the Tayrona Park take?

    +

Plan for about 4.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santa Marta is not rushed.

Is Trip (half day) in a Private Sailing Boat in the Tayrona Park worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Santa Marta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Trip (half day) in a Private Sailing Boat in the Tayrona Park?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Trip (half day) in a Private Sailing Boat in the Tayrona Park suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Trip (half day) in a Private Sailing Boat in the Tayrona Park?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santa Marta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santa Marta and add a light layer if any part of the 4.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Trip (half day) in a Private Sailing Boat in the Tayrona Park start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santa Marta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Santa Marta?

    +

On Outty we rank every Santa Marta experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hike for 4 days to the Lost City, Santa Marta, 4-Day Lost City Small-Group Tour in Santa Marta, 4-Day Walking Tour to Lost City of Sierra Nevada. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Santa Marta?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Santa Marta?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
