Boston Team Nemo’s memorable Kili hike

When my team of 10 hikers from Boston, Massachusetts, USA were looking to engage a trekking company, the following were primary factors -(1) experienced and qualified/trained team of guides and support staff; (2) one stop comprehensive adventure experience package - start at airport and conclude at airport; (3) local Tanzanian direct vendor; (4) Ease of engagement, responsiveness, flexibility; After scouting and shortlisting 4 vendors, Sirikwa Travels came out on top with a package offering of 8 day Lemosho hike route and 1 day Tarangeri park Safari package. We had an memorable and amazing adventure of our lifetime and the entire team felt so blessed to be skillfully led & guided by Jonathan and the entire Sirikwa support staff. We were fed with great food as per our previously identified preference, pampered, entertained and kept a jovial atmosphere throughout making our daily hikes happen magically. Jonathan Jakob and his assistants (Makere, Eddie, Leon) kept us all (10 of us) together when sections got busy with other groups crossing at the same time, coaching, giving tips, setting our pace (which was so crucial) which enabled us to summit successfully. Jonathan and is assistants were conversant and comfortable helping and advising minor ailments and ways to counter altitude effects, breathing, hydration etc. Our memorable and successful adventure is largely due to Jonathan, Ole and the entire Sirikwa crew🙏🏼. Amazing Kilimanjaro Trek Experience with Siri’s

Me and my fiend decided to do something memorable on our 40th Birthday. After exploring many options, we hatched a plan to trek to the summit of Kilimanjaro. We’ve been recommended Sirikwa Travel by a group of friends. So we approached Ole from Sirikwa Travel. He was super helpful in terms of answering questions, offering suggestions and his willingness to help. He also organised a day trip to coffee plantation site for us in a very short notice and we had a great time. It was a great experience. Driver and a guide were lovely and friendly. We started our trek to Kilimanjaro on 19th of June with a brilliant team of 36 people. All the Staff members were lovely, funny and friendly and they looked after us really well throughout the journey. We reached to the top on 25th at 6.10 in the morning. Breathtaking views from the top and views of sunrise, immediately compensated my tired body and achy legs. I would like to thank entire team of Sirikwa Travel and Ole for their hardwork and help to create this amazing memory. I would highly recommend Sirikwa Travel to everyone who is thinking about creating a similar memory as us. Pole Pole, means slowly slowly in local language, you hear them from every other person you pass by, were probably the best thing to cope with the altitude. It was certainly what I did. Bish

    Outstanding Experience with Sirikwa!

My experience with Srikwa travel was fantastic. I’d like to include some personal details of my Kilimanjaro journey to better display the amount of professionalism and care that was shown to my friend and I. Our Kilimanjaro guides were named Leon and Johnathon. Both of them were very personable, spoke excellent English, and went out of their way to make sure we were well taken care of. If there was ever an issue with the pace of the hike, food served, or wake time, they would instantly alter our schedule to accommodate both of us. Ole, our personal contact, was always an email away, and sufficiently provided us with not only a successful Kilimanjaro climb but also the following hotel trips and sightseeing spots. He made sure to make us a priority, and continuously checked in when we needed it. Our porters and cooks were of fine quality, and often joked with us and had regular conversations about our progress on the mountain. We both found them all to be hilarious and fun-loving people. Joshua, one of our servers, stood out as someone who made it his pleasure to stop in and check on us. Even after the mountain when we did the safari ride at Ngorongoro crater, Johnathon tagged along with us and our driver Patience. Both made the drive a memorable experience, consistently informing us about the animals and their habits. Johnny was an excellent driver and got us to where we needed to be at any time. All and all, it was a wonderful time with Sirikwa, and I can’t recommend them enough.

Response from the operator: Dear Andrew We really appreciate your time and effort for such a warm review. Thank you very much for choosing us and giving us chance to organize trek for you. We understand how important this trip carries for our clients so we try our best to make them happy and carry the lifetime experiences back home. Our whole team members are always ahead to contribute from their part to make trip successful and we are very glad we succeeded in yours too via this review. Thank you once again for selecting Sirikwa Travel for such a beautiful and thrilling trek and highly recommending us. Stay safe!.

Trek To Mount Kilimanjaro: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Moshi.

How much does Trek To Mount Kilimanjaro cost?

    +

Prices start at $2700 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Moshi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Trek To Mount Kilimanjaro take?

    +

Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Moshi is not rushed.

Is Trek To Mount Kilimanjaro worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Moshi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Trek To Mount Kilimanjaro?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Trek To Mount Kilimanjaro suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Trek To Mount Kilimanjaro?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Moshi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Moshi and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Trek To Mount Kilimanjaro start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Moshi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Moshi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Moshi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Materuni Waterfall, Coffee Tour and Picnic Hot Lunch, Climbing Kilimanjaro through 7 days Machame Route, Kilimanjaro Lemosho Route. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Moshi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Moshi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
