    Outstanding

Toni treated us and 2 other friend couples to an outstanding customized tour of Transylvania, including “Dracula’s” castle ( also home to beloved queen Marie) but also fascinating fortified towns and churches, other 15th century quaint towns, castles, Roman ruins, king carol’s castle, the prison for unhappy couples to name a few. He helped with medical needs in the pharmacies, taught us so much about the history, culture and traditions of Romania. The accommodations were charming and right in town, the van was very comfortable and the days packed but not overfilled. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, kind, attentive to our needs and wants. I cannot say enough great about Toni and his tour company.

Response from the operator: Dear Traveler, Thank you so much for your heartfelt words! It was truly a pleasure to guide you and your friends through the heart of Transylvania. We’re so glad you enjoyed the mix of iconic sites like Bran Castle—rich in both myth and royal history—as well as the lesser-known gems, medieval towns, and stories that make Romania so unique. From pharmacy stops to prison legends, I aimed to make every day both meaningful and comfortable for your group. Your kind words about the accommodations, itinerary, and overall experience truly mean a lot. It was a joy to travel with such curious and warm-hearted guests! Wishing you all the best, Toni, Tour Guide Crafting Memorable Journeys Through Romania Crafted Tours Romania

Phenomenal tour of Romania with exceptional guide

Our tour with Crafted Tours Romania was better than I ever dreamed it could be. This was a heritage trip to see my grandmother's homeland. Toni greatly exceeded our expectations for a guided tour. He explained the rich history of Romania while showing us the remarkable beauty of the country. And, his choices of unique, historic hotels and phenomincal restaurants greatly added to our experience. However, what made this tour so memorable was the caring and kindness Toni showed us throughout our 6 days together. Toni made sure we saw places that were meaningful and significant while adding to our depth of understanding through sharing his experiences growing up in Romania. Toni's expertise and love of the country showed in everything we did. We now feel connected to the country of my ancestors and to the wonderful people living in Romania today.

Response from the operator: Dear Paula, Thank you so much for your lovely review. We had to wait years before you could visit Romania and I was happy to stay in touch and finally made the 6 days tour with you. Your kind words means a lot for me. Thank you! Toni Crafted Tours Romania

Great comprehensive Transylvania/Bucharest tour guide for all the major attractions

We spent 4 full days with Toni guiding us through Transylvania and Bucharest. We had long days but he managed to get us to everything we wanted to see in the area. He’s a very well informed guide and helpful in every instance. I also found him to be organized and his itinerary well planned to maximize the time of our short visit. Overall, full recommendation for you to use his services.

Response from the operator: Hi Bretts, Many thanks for your recommendation. We had 5 intense days of touring around Transylvania. There are so many beautiful things to see in Romania and hopefully I will have the chance to be your guide in the future and visit the other area such us Maramures, Bucovina or Black Sea coast. All the best from Romania, Toni Cristian Tatar

Transylvania In‑Depth: Castles, UNESCO & Medieval - 5 Day Private: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bucharest.

How much does Transylvania In‑Depth: Castles, UNESCO & Medieval - 5 Day Private cost?

    +

Prices start at $2000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bucharest usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Transylvania In‑Depth: Castles, UNESCO & Medieval - 5 Day Private take?

    +

Plan for about 120 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bucharest is not rushed.

Is Transylvania In‑Depth: Castles, UNESCO & Medieval - 5 Day Private worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Bucharest, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Transylvania In‑Depth: Castles, UNESCO & Medieval - 5 Day Private?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Transylvania In‑Depth: Castles, UNESCO & Medieval - 5 Day Private suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 120-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Transylvania In‑Depth: Castles, UNESCO & Medieval - 5 Day Private?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bucharest can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bucharest and add a light layer if any part of the 120-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Transylvania In‑Depth: Castles, UNESCO & Medieval - 5 Day Private start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bucharest within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Bucharest?

    +

On Outty we rank every Bucharest experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Real tour of Communism, Bucharest Highlights Walking Tour, Top Gear Road, Small-group max 7 pax with Pick-up, Transfăgărăşan. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Bucharest?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bucharest?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
