I don’t think Viator was at fault but it was a lousy experience!
We arrived at the airport and there was no one to pick us up. We tried to call the company but their phone was not working. We tried to text but they never answered. We finally got someone at the information booth at the airport to help who spoke English but they were only able to text with the company. To make the reservation, I had sent the company our flight information (flight number and arrival time). After about 2 hours (it was now 8 pm) we finally figured out what happened. The company said they came to get us at 6 am instead of 6 pm. This was probably my fault but since they had the flight information they should have figured it out. What was more concerning was that they never tried to contact me once! They never reached out at all! Also, there are two airports in Leon and they went to the wrong airport. The correct airport was clearly stated but they went to the other one. You think they would reach out to see what happened but they didn’t. We never heard from them. They didn’t even try to find out what happened. We finally reached Viator by text and they finally said they would refund our money but we are still waiting to make sure that happens. We spent about 3 hours in the airport trying to figure it all out. We didn’t arrive at our Airbnb until after 10 pm. Long story short: if you are going to San Miguel Allende from Leon/ Guanajuato airport, don’t book in advance. Wait till you get there and call an Uber - it was about a quarter of the price but you can’t book in advance from the US.

Not What we Expected
Very nice driver, but he didn’t pick us up inside holding a sign with our names on it. It look a while to work out that he was in an off-site parking lot and that he would be around to get us shortly. When he showed up in about 15 min., he was with a little mini van full of people and another driver was driving it back to the off-site lot, where he said he had left his car that he would use to take us to SMA. The van ride took about 10-15 minutes and everything worked out fine in the end. It just took longer than it should have and wasn’t what we expected. They shouldn’t advertise inside pick up if that’s not what’s going to happen. Otherwise, perfect ride. Nice car, curteous, good driving.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the lack of clarity in the pickup process. We appreciate your feedback and will review our communications to ensure our practices align with what we advertise. We’re glad to hear that, in the end, your ride was pleasant and met your expectations. We’re committed to improving and providing a better experience in the future.

Transfers To San Miguel de Allende: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for San Miguel de Allende.
How much does Transfers To San Miguel de Allende cost?
+
Prices start at $70 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in San Miguel de Allende usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Transfers To San Miguel de Allende take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in San Miguel de Allende is not rushed.
Is Transfers To San Miguel de Allende worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 40 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in San Miguel de Allende, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Transfers To San Miguel de Allende?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Transfers To San Miguel de Allende suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Transfers To San Miguel de Allende?
+
Around 14 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in San Miguel de Allende can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in San Miguel de Allende and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Transfers To San Miguel de Allende start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central San Miguel de Allende within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in San Miguel de Allende?
+
On Outty we rank every San Miguel de Allende experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tacos and Tequila Walking Tour with Taste of Miguel, Half Day Excursion - Horseback Riding Adventure in SMA, Historical and Cultural Walking Tour of San Miguel de Allende. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit San Miguel de Allende?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in San Miguel de Allende?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
