Fantastic local experience
I booked it very last minute the night before as I was unsure of the weather and if they will pick us up from the hotel in Puerto Rico as many other tours would not come up the hill but we’ll meet you at a different location which is inconvenient if your hotel Riu is on top of the hill. They arrange a smooth pick up and drop off. We had a great day to the markets with plenty of free time to explore and enjoy the atmosphere at your own leisure without the pressure of the group. Our guide was very helpful and gave us all the information in different languages while we were travelling on the bus so no time was wasted when we got there, just plenty of freedom to enjoy the day.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review and for choosing First Minute Travel! 🧡 We’re delighted that we could make your last-minute booking easy and that everything went smoothly on the day. It’s fantastic to hear that you enjoyed the markets, the relaxed atmosphere and the freedom to explore at your own pace. We believe a great excursion is not just about the destinations, but also about giving our guests the time and flexibility to enjoy every moment. We’re also very proud of our guides, who work hard to share helpful information in different languages and ensure our guests feel comfortable and well informed throughout the journey. Thank you again for your kind words and recommendation. We hope to welcome you back for another memorable experience with us in the future! 🧡 Kind regards, First Minute Travel Team

A great way to see more of the island
Good trip up into the lush green mountains. A constant to the southern tourist locations. A great guide who shared information about the island people, traditions & way of life. Good cafes to taste local food & dishes. Really nice trip, not too long, take a jacket it can get chilly & rain.

Terrible
Not good at all first 2 markets waste of time and money you are squashed on a mini bus also let’s see what the last market brings you spend more time traveling and have little time to look around

Read this before being disappointed !.
Was informed that our tour had been cancelled 20 minutes before the proposed pick up from our hotel and that was only because we made an enquiry as to the exact pick up point otherwise we would have been left waiting for the bus to arrive. The excuse given was that the tour had been cancelled due to bad weather but when it was pointed out that the weather was fantastic it then was admitted that they had forgotten about our paid for booking. No question about an alternative offer or a subsidised alternative. Needless to say but so very disappointed as this has ruined our day and I would advise anyone thinking about booking with this company to AVOID and book with another more reliable one. This trip was booked through Get Your Guide whom I hope will think hard about using this company in the future.

Traditional Market Day and San Mateo & Teror: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Gran Canaria.
How much does Traditional Market Day and San Mateo & Teror cost?
+
Prices start at $38 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Gran Canaria usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Traditional Market Day and San Mateo & Teror take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Gran Canaria is not rushed.
Is Traditional Market Day and San Mateo & Teror worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.4/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Gran Canaria, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Traditional Market Day and San Mateo & Teror?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Traditional Market Day and San Mateo & Teror suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Traditional Market Day and San Mateo & Teror?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Gran Canaria can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Gran Canaria and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Traditional Market Day and San Mateo & Teror start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Gran Canaria within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Gran Canaria?
+
On Outty we rank every Gran Canaria experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Puerto de Mogán: Coastal Cruise with Optional Snorkeling & Lunch, Guided tour of the Banana World, Gran Canaria Red Canyon: Small Group Tour & Local Food ツ. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Gran Canaria?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Gran Canaria?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
