Most fun cooking class I’ve taken!
This cooking class was easily the most memorable one I’ve taken while traveling. I went with my mom and we had the greatest time. Jiny was the kindest host/teacher we could’ve asked for. We came quite early and she was happy to accommodate us, making friendly conversation and always checking in to make sure we were having fun. She made the recipes so easy to follow and sent back written instructions - mom and I will be making a lot of bibimbap! We even got a really nice personal tour around the local area and got to see such an interesting side of Seoul. Thank you Jiny!
Response from the operator: Wow! Alexis!:) Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review, especially when I know you must have been busy. Your kind words truly made my day and made me end it with such a happy heart! I was also very grateful to see how much you tried to arrive at my class on time, even though it was quite early in the morning. That really meant a lot to me! Seeing you enjoy such a wonderful trip together as mother and daughter even made me think, “I want to travel like this with my mom too!” You both already knew so much about Korean food, which made it easier for you to prepare the dishes, and I think that’s also why everything turned out even more delicious! I was so happy and enjoyed spending time with you, sharing stories and having such lovely conversations together. I hope you continue to have many more fun and wonderful trips together as mother and daughter. Wishing you both always good health, happiness, and lots of beautiful memories!

Great cooking class, worthy every penny!
We had a wonderful cooking class with Jiny! We made six dishes—bibimbap, kimchi pancakes, bulgogi, japchae, sanjeok, and soybean stew. Everything was beautifully organized and perfectly portioned. Jiny clearly explained the ingredients and steps, paced the class perfectly, and made the entire menu feel approachable and fun. Jiny was especially wonderful with our 11-year-old son. She made sure he felt comfortable and safe using the stove while giving him enough independence to really participate. She was incredibly patient and encouraging, and he had a great time! Jiny also took photos throughout the class so we could focus on cooking, then shared the photos and recipes with us afterward. The food was delicious, and enjoying the meal we had prepared together was a highlight. Afterward, Jiny took us on a short walk around her neighborhood, sharing its local culture and how it has changed over time. It was a wonderful way to experience a more local side of Seoul. We highly recommend Jiny’s class! It was a fun, delicious, and memorable experience for our whole family.
Response from the operator: Wow Jennifer!! Jennifer! I can’t tell you how grateful I am that you took the time to leave such a wonderful review on TripAdvisor!!! I know you must have been busy enjoying your trip, so I truly can’t express in words how much I appreciate you taking the time out of your precious vacation to write such a thoughtful review. It means so much to me! Some of the dishes have steps that can be a little challenging for children, but seeing your whole family work together, help one another, and happily prepare the dishes made me want to do my very best to make the class enjoyable and easy to follow for everyone. And I was honestly so impressed by your child’s maturity and thoughtfulness. It was hard to believe they were only 11 years old! I even felt that there was something I could learn from them. Thank you so much for trusting me, following along so well, and giving me so much encouragement and such kind compliments. I truly appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. I wish you and your family nothing but good health, happiness, and wonderful memories wherever you go. And please feel free to contact me anytime, Jennifer! Thank you again, sincerely, for everything!

Must do cooking class
This was a blast. Was a little tough to find the studio as most instructions assume that you are coming via subway but once we found it, it was a great experience. Jiny was fun, knowledgeable and we had the opportunity to make several dishes because the prep-work was all done for us. Food yummy and it was amazing how easy some of the dishes would be to replicate at home. Going to be trying a few in my own kitchen. Great experience and great value.
Response from the operator: Hello Dena! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review, especially in the middle of your busy everyday life. I truly appreciate your kindness and thoughtfulness! I’m so happy and grateful to hear that you enjoyed the time we spent together. Korean dishes aren’t necessarily difficult to make as long as you have the ingredients, but some of them can take a little time and patience. So I really appreciate how enthusiastically you prepared every dish and how deliciously you enjoyed them! It makes me so happy to imagine you making delicious Korean food at home. I’m already looking forward to hearing about all the wonderful Korean dishes you’ll make! And if you ever have any questions while making the recipes at home, please feel free to contact me anytime. I’ll be more than happy to help! Thank you once again for all your kind words and wonderful compliments. I truly appreciate them. Wishing you always good health, happiness, and many wonderful moments!

Wonderful home cooking experience in Seoul!
Our family had a wonderful time learning how to cook traditional Korean dishes with Jiny in her charming studio. Jiny explained not only the steps to prepare each dish, but also some of the cultural history. It was both fun and delicious, and we also enjoyed chatting with fellow travelers who were in the class with us. We would definitely recommend!
Response from the operator: Jeffrey!! I can still feel the warmth you and your family shared with me. :) I think your family’s warmth and kindness made the whole class feel more comfortable and relaxed, not only for me but also for the other guests who were cooking alongside you. The love and warmth you have for one another truly reached me as well, and it made the experience even more special and happy for me. Thank you so much! I believe that the warmth and energy of the person who makes a dish somehow find their way into the food and make it taste even better. And I truly think your family’s warmth was passed into the food, which made everything you cooked even more delicious! 😊 I sincerely wish you and your family nothing but happiness and good health always. And please feel free to reach out to me anytime if you have any questions! Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!

Why this scores 74
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Traditional Korean 6-Dish Cooking Class + Hidden Alley Tour Seoul: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Seoul.
How much does Traditional Korean 6-Dish Cooking Class + Hidden Alley Tour Seoul cost?
+
Prices start at $90 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Seoul usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Traditional Korean 6-Dish Cooking Class + Hidden Alley Tour Seoul take?
+
Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Seoul is not rushed.
Is Traditional Korean 6-Dish Cooking Class + Hidden Alley Tour Seoul worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 85 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Seoul, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Traditional Korean 6-Dish Cooking Class + Hidden Alley Tour Seoul?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Traditional Korean 6-Dish Cooking Class + Hidden Alley Tour Seoul suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Traditional Korean 6-Dish Cooking Class + Hidden Alley Tour Seoul?
+
Around 30 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Seoul can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Seoul and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Traditional Korean 6-Dish Cooking Class + Hidden Alley Tour Seoul start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Seoul within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Seoul?
+
On Outty we rank every Seoul experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include DMZ Tour: Defector Q&A, Tunnel & Suspension Bridge /Hotel pick up, Best DMZ Tour Seoul: Defector Q&A, 3rd Tunnel & Suspension Bridge, 2026 Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best: DMZ Tour from Seoul. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Seoul?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Seoul?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
