Fantastic Way to Knowing How America All Began
This is a great start to knowing the beginning of how America got started. Stewie was great! He picked us up at our hotel and gave us some history on the way to Plymouth. Our first stop was Plimoth Patuxet Museum. Fantastic and very informative and interactive. Then on to lunch and the Mayflower ll. Again, Stewie gave us some information along the way. The last stop was the Grist Mill. I felt like it was from Little House on the Prairie. A fantastic day trip! However, if that wasn’t enough, my husband left his sunglasses in Stewie’s car. Stewie made a trip to our hotel just to drop off the sunglasses for us. Thank you, Stewie!!!

If you should happen to get "Stewie" as your tour guide/operator, you will be in for a rare opportunity -- his knowledge of Boston/Massachusetts politics, history, geography, culture is encyclopedic! We very much enjoyed this tour.

An Enjoyable and Educational Day Trip from Boston
As stated as I was traveling solo so I was able to spend a lot of quality time with Stewie. He’s a very knowledgeable guy and we shared many tidbits with each other about history. The plantation was a fascinating re-creation of the first northern settlement. While the European village was amazing and provided a great insight to the British experience, it was the native Wampanoag village that truly made my day worthwhile. The volunteers especially a young woman (who had native ancestors) was extremely proud and knowledgeable about the history of the place. There are three different areas of village activities (cookery, crafts, living spaces) that were brought to life by her knowledge. In fact I spent a majority of my time there talking with her alone talking about lives of her ancestors. We additionally went to the gristmill. I’m fascinated by gearing and the use of water to power machinery. I actually bought a lot of products here (grown here) to incorporate into my cooking. Lastly, we went to both Plymouth Rock and the Plymouth museum. The rock was both underwhelming and overwhelming in both its physical presence and emotional strength. The museum although somewhat small is something to be seen. There are many artifacts there including John Alden’s bible. My only suggestion/complaint is: I only bought my ticket one day before and a visit to the Mayflower II was included. The fact was she wasn’t there and had been at Mystic Seaport for the past winter. I was charged for something that the company could NOT deliver. I did then insist that we go to the museum and Stewie, made this happen.
