Not ready for prime time . . .
Already ready rated this tour and I happily accepted your offer of a full refund. I saw the credit on my back card statement.

Warning: We were not treated fairly
We signed up for the tram tour and arrived ahead of time. We checked in with the tour guide on our arrival, however, when the tram pulled up we were told that we had to stand for the hour ride and would not have seats. We had two elderly individuals in our party and their ability to stand for that length of time was not possible. It created a safety issue for them. We told the operator that we could not stand for that period of time and they said that it was that or nothing. No alternatives were offered. We requested an online refund and they denied the refund. Be very careful if you book this trolley!! It was our one bad experience during our two weekend tour in Europe.
Response from the operator: 'm really sorry to hear about your experience with the tram tour. It sounds frustrating, especially with elderly individuals in your group who needed seating for safety and comfort. It’s disappointing that the operator didn’t offer any alternatives or accommodations. Have you considered reaching out to customer service again, perhaps escalating the issue? Sometimes speaking to a supervisor can lead to a different outcome. It’s important for companies to be aware of such feedback, so they can improve their services in the future. I hope the rest of your trip went smoothly!

Hire me for a better tour
The tour was horrible. I paid for live commentary and headphones. Myself and 2 guests recieved neither. I have lived in Basel for 15 years and had 2 guests visiting. The tram did not pass by Spalentur, one of the most beautiful points in Basel. We were mostly on the outskirts of Basel. Too much time spent in Klein Basel seeing the drug addicts and prostitutes. Such a waste of 50minutes and money. The company promises something that you do NOT get.
Response from the operator: We sincerely apologize for the disappointing experience you had on our tour. We regret that you did not receive the live commentary and headphones that were promised. Additionally, we understand your frustration with the tour route and the time spent in areas that did not showcase the best of Basel. Your feedback is invaluable, and we will address these issues to ensure that our tours meet the high standards we promise. Please accept our apologies and for the inconvenience caused. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Well worth a visit
Barbara was amazing, we were lucky that we were the only 2 on the tram so we had a personal tour. The tour takes you all through the city and gives a fantastic overview of the history of the city and Switzerland. Highly recommended.

Great way to meet Basel from another side. If I am interested in old iron taps or trams in addition to the city, this trip is a MUST

Tour on the vintage tram: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Basel.
How much does Tour on the vintage tram cost?
+
Prices start at $25 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Basel usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Tour on the vintage tram take?
+
Plan for about 1.3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Basel is not rushed.
Is Tour on the vintage tram worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.7/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Basel, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Tour on the vintage tram?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Tour on the vintage tram suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Tour on the vintage tram?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Basel can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Basel and add a light layer if any part of the 1.3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Tour on the vintage tram start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Basel within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Basel?
+
On Outty we rank every Basel experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Alsace wine tour and medieval villages. Small group guided tour, Basel : Private Custom Walking Tour With A Guide (Private Tour), From Basel: Premium Panoramic train, Lucerne & Interlaken Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Basel?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Basel?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Tour on the vintage tram?
+
Included: Headsets to hear the guide clearly; Professional guide; Local taxes; and Live commentary on board. Not included: Gratuities. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
Where is the meeting point for Tour on the vintage tram?
+
