    Great day with great guides!

It was my first time kayaking and it was a great experience. We had a wonderful, sunny and warm day and saw seaotters, whales and bald eagles. Zeke and Chloe were great guides and I would highly recommend this trip even if it‘s your fist time kayaking.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a wonderful review! 😊 I'm so glad your first kayaking experience was a great one and that Resurrection Bay delivered with beautiful weather and amazing wildlife. 🦦🦅 I'll be sure to share your kind words with Zeke and Chloe. They take great pride in creating a safe, fun, and memorable experience for every guest. I truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back to Seward again soon! Stephanie C. Tonsina Bay Kayak Trip with James!!

Did the Tonsina Day kayak trip with my husband as part of our stay in Seward! We had James as our guide and we COULD NOT recommend him more!! James was so knowledgeable about Resurrection Bay and the wildlife! We ended up seeing seals, sea otters, river otters, and bald eagles. James was very personable and it genuinely felt like we were on a day trip with a friend. The professionalism from pickup to dropoff was unmatched.

Response from the operator: Thank you for such a kind review! It means a lot to hear that your time on the water was a highlight of your visit to Seward. 😊 I'm especially happy to hear James made such a positive impression. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and ability to connect with guests are exactly what I hope every visitor experiences. I'll be sure he sees your comments. Seeing seals, otters, and bald eagles along the way is a pretty amazing bonus! 🦦🦅 Thank you for trusting us with your adventure. I hope your travels bring you back to Seward again someday! A great kayak excursion in Seward

From our pickup from the ship to our return the trip was professionally organized and executed. Stephanie toured us through Seward to their gear area and explained about the town along the way. Taylor could not have been more patient, helpful and friendly. The trip was exciting - wave, bald eagles and sea otters! The hike and lunch were terrific - Taylor gave us great info on history and plant life. We were safely back to Sunny Cove with gear returned in time to make the Sea Life Center ( thanks Dylan for the drop off!) and back to the ship in plenty of time, but we never felt rushed. It was a delightful experience from start to finish!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! 😊 It was a pleasure meeting you, and I'm so glad you enjoyed your day with us from start to finish. I'll be sure to share your kind words with Taylor and Dylan. Taylor is passionate about creating a fun, informative experience, and I'm happy to hear they helped make your day so memorable. I'm also glad we could get you back in time to enjoy the SeaLife Center without feeling rushed. 🦦🦅 Thank you for choosing Sunny Cove Kayaking. I truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back to Seward someday! Stephanie C. Millane, Owner Sunny Cove Kayaking info@sunnycove.com 1.907.224.4426

Tonsina Point Kayak and Exploration: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Seward.

How much does Tonsina Point Kayak and Exploration cost?

    +

Prices start at $225 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Seward usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Tonsina Point Kayak and Exploration take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Seward is not rushed.

Is Tonsina Point Kayak and Exploration worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 57 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Seward, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Tonsina Point Kayak and Exploration?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Tonsina Point Kayak and Exploration suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Tonsina Point Kayak and Exploration?

    +

Around 20 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Seward can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Seward and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Tonsina Point Kayak and Exploration start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Seward within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Seward?

    +

Seward is the gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park: day cruises to tidewater glaciers, whale and puffin watching, glacier hikes on Exit Glacier and halibut charters. On Outty we rank every Seward experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kenai Fjords National Park Glacier & Wildlife Cruise, Full-Day Kenai Fjords National Park Northwestern Cruise, Full-Day Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Seward?

    +

Late May to early September. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Seward?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
