3days first time Japan

The activity quality depends very much on the guides The first 2 days we felt like having booked a driver instead of a guided tour, the third day the driver was more knowledgeable. Both drivers were very friendly. None of them was Japanese, which makes it less ideal if you intend to learn about Japanese culture. The itinerary order was changed unilaterally and the driver has not seen the itinerary we bought .

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback and for choosing our tour. We're glad you found our drivers friendly and appreciated the guide on the third day. We apologize for any confusion regarding the itinerary and for not fully meeting your expectations for a guided experience. Your comments are valuable and will help us improve our service and communication. We hope to welcome you back to Japan in the future.

Incredible Experience!

I was able to attend the 3 day private tour with Jack, and I can't saying how awesome my experience was with anyone who will listen! I traveled on my own to Tokyo after spending time in Okinawa with friends. I was a little nervous of traveling Tokyo solo and being able to see the best of Tokyo on my own. So I booked this tour as I thought it would give me the best opportunity to see many great things in Tokyo and the surrounding area, and it delivered!!! Jack set up the tour to include everything that I wanted within our time limits and was open to changing things up if needed for dealing with the weather or anything like that including changing up which days we did what to give the best opportunities to see things. (This was especially important for seeing Mount Fuji. It wasn't clear the day we saw it, but considering I still got a picture when it did clear for a little while, I was very happy!) The tour was a great mix of busy city with Tokyo Tower, Tokyo Skytree, and Shibuya station days, seeing a lot of nature with Hakone and Nikko with Kegon waterfall and the lakes, and history with with the many shrines we were able to visit. I loved having a private tour and driver to get to all of these places and not have to figure out how I was going to get to and from places and the stress of doing that. Being able to be picked up and dropped off right at the hotel is worth it's weight in gold! The only thing that I was slightly disappointed with was that the descriptions of what is included in the breakdown of the tour mentions that admissions to all of these attractions is free. Which is technically true as you can walk up to Tokyo Tower, the Skytree, the shops at the bottom of them, etc., and see it for free that way. I would tell others that yes, that is included, but if you are wanting to go up the towers or go into some shrines, or do other certain things, you will need to pay extra and this can take much more time, so you will want to plan ahead with that in mind! I got lucky that the Tokyo Tower at the time had no line so I could go up to the mid section (Not the top! That is different and costs more!) so I could at least go to that tower without taking too much extra time. I also went at a time that was not super busy (Sept 14-17) so it wasn't peak tourist season, so that can make an impact on visiting things as well and can definitely change the schedule if you are wanting to do the extra things. Last but definitely not least is my tour guide Jack! He was so very helpful, nice, and just all around great! He shared so many interesting facts about all the places we visited, was always offering to take any pictures I wanted, and even shared some of his favorite snacks from Japan with me! I felt completely safe even in the very busy traffic of Tokyo and was so happy to not be lost since I had my own private tour guide! I can't say enough good things about Jack and all he added to my experience in Tokyo. I have since returned home, but am already thinking of how I can get back to Japan as soon as possible ,and these tours will definitely be on my list of things to check once I make a plan to come back. Book this tour! You will not regret it! :)

Response from the operator: We’re truly delighted that you had a wonderful experience with us on your 3-day tour. We always strive to make our customers happy, and we sincerely appreciate that you took the time to share your detailed feedback. Thank you so much for your 5-star review! We hope to welcome you again on your next visit to Japan!

Tokyo, Hakone, Mt Fuji, and Nikko, 3 Day Private Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tokyo.

How much does Tokyo, Hakone, Mt Fuji, and Nikko, 3 Day Private Tour cost?

+

Prices start at $1416 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tokyo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Tokyo, Hakone, Mt Fuji, and Nikko, 3 Day Private Tour take?

+

Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tokyo is not rushed.

Is Tokyo, Hakone, Mt Fuji, and Nikko, 3 Day Private Tour worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tokyo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Tokyo, Hakone, Mt Fuji, and Nikko, 3 Day Private Tour?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Tokyo, Hakone, Mt Fuji, and Nikko, 3 Day Private Tour suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 72-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Tokyo, Hakone, Mt Fuji, and Nikko, 3 Day Private Tour?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tokyo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tokyo and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Tokyo, Hakone, Mt Fuji, and Nikko, 3 Day Private Tour start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tokyo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tokyo?

+

Tokyo is less a city than a stack of neighborhoods with completely different opening hours. A guided food crawl through Shinjuku's Omoide Yokocho gets you past the no-tourist curtains, while the day trips west to Hakone and Fuji need an early start to be worth the fare. Our ranking weighs guide quality heavily here, because in Tokyo the guide is the product. On Outty we rank every Tokyo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tokyo Shinjuku Chopsticks Making Class, Tokyo : Asakusa Chopsticks Making Class, Shinjuku Night Food and Bar Crawl. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tokyo?

+

Late March to May for blossom, October to November for clear Fuji views. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tokyo?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
