Fab day in Tokyo!

Peter our guide was very personable, knowledgeable and friendly. Peter got in touch a few days before our tour and we specified what we wanted to see in tokyo. Peter took us there via the subway/trains, which in itself was a great experience. Peter showed us shinjuku gardens, the menji jingu shrine and the ginza district. Peter also assisted us with shopping for specific items, which was so helpful. We had some specific Japanese cuisines that we wanted to try and the restaurants peter took us to were great and the food was delicious. We had a fabulous day in tokyo, thank you peter!

You SHALL PAY GUIDE expenses

Unfair treatment of tourist. This is the description of tour: Included • Hotel pickup and drop-off (on foot) • Public parks and gardens • Entry to free temples • Local guide Not included • Food and drink • Transportation • Entry to paid attractions Once I go on the tour, SHISH, the guide Made me PAY for ALL his metro fare, admission to Garden. I not not paid my admission to Hase dera temple, I paid HIS??? Lunch I paid on my own, I wants to pick my own S seafood restaurant but SHISH wants to EAT Wagyu steak ?? And pushed me to eat in a Restaurant WITH STEAK, then HE MADE ME PAY FOR HIS STEAK ??? Later as we are walking in the city, instead of me picking what attraction I want to see, SHISH wants to see Museum of Illusion and pushed me inside as I refused. Just to be polite, I walked in, it’s EXPENSIVE museum ¥4000, I was forced to PAY for SHISH admission also??? End of day, I tipped SHISH, but he asked me to PAY his train bus fare back to TOKYO??? On the description, I don’t mind paying my own lunch, transportation but PAYING full fare for the Guide, eating at his favorite restaurant on my tab, paying his return subway fare? Visiting his preferred museum?? Who is the customer?? I really enjoyed green tea, and I was looking for Green tea custard, Shish made a comment, he does not like green tea, ask me to move on??? I had to rush to get my green tea custard. I don’t like his attitude, something he doesn’t like , line keep quiet, and let customer enjoy , give customer a minute. Show some appreciation to the customer. The owner made no apologies to the situation by offering partial refund. He supported his guides behavior. Not a trust worthy company will NOT use in future

Response from the operator: We are so terribly sorry! Clearly, our guide used powerful hypnosis to strip you of your free will, forcing you to request a custom detour to a private garden, ordering you to buy a premium steak dinner, and cruelly making you rush through a tiny dessert. In reality, our tour description explicitly states that transport, meals, and private entry fees are not included. We love accommodating custom requests from our guests, but we unfortunately do not control minds—nor do we cover the bill when a guest chooses to order a steak

Complete Rip off THIEF

Total RIP OFF, worst tour ever When your customer already paid you $166 for a stupid 8 hour your, you have OBLIGATION to cover the minute fees along the way , perhaps paying your thief guide a one one ticket home??? Not nickel and dime ripping your customers off more. The thief of a guide Shish force customer to pay for his museum tour 2x ticket customer and guide, 2x train fare every where. The Thief Shish even make and force customer to pay fur Guide’s expensive Wagyu Steak Meal ??? $166 is A lot of money to include NEXT TO NOTHING on the tour. Every museum entry, admission ticket , Customer pays DOUBLE guided Tour plus customer ??? Unheard of this Rip off??? Customers pay his tab fine… paying the guide ?? THIEF??? Customer even pay for Guides 1 way trip home plus additional fare . Guide keep telling washer customer wants to eat but his liking . Customer likes green tea , guide instead if helping customers look for green tea, said I don’t like green tea, bad taste ??? I feel disgusted my skin peeled on this lousy tour DO NOT TAKE this tour If there are options. The owner has the weakest explanation, supporting his guides THIEF behavior. Accomplice in Crime. Worst TOUR I have ever taken. They might as well take your wallet and credit card and go on spending spree

Great tour with knowledgeable guide

Had a half day tour with Christian as our guide. He was very knowledgeable, met us at our hotel and took us to some places that we would otherwise not have thought of visiting. Overall, a great morning and would recommend this trip to others

Night Tour Shinjuki

We were 4 older ladies in a city very unfamiliar to us. This was great way to see Shinjuki at night - guided by a terrific guide. Shinjuki was very crowded but very colourful and exciting. Our guide watch that we ladies were able to keep up with the other tourist and always was informative about each stop we made. Very highly recommend this tour.

Tokyo Half Walking Day Tour with a Local Expert Guide: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tokyo.

How much does Tokyo Half Walking Day Tour with a Local Expert Guide cost?

+

Prices start at $2625 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tokyo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Tokyo Half Walking Day Tour with a Local Expert Guide take?

+

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tokyo is not rushed.

Is Tokyo Half Walking Day Tour with a Local Expert Guide worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 24 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tokyo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Tokyo Half Walking Day Tour with a Local Expert Guide?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Tokyo Half Walking Day Tour with a Local Expert Guide suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Tokyo Half Walking Day Tour with a Local Expert Guide?

+

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tokyo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tokyo and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Tokyo Half Walking Day Tour with a Local Expert Guide start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tokyo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tokyo?

+

Tokyo is less a city than a stack of neighborhoods with completely different opening hours. A guided food crawl through Shinjuku's Omoide Yokocho gets you past the no-tourist curtains, while the day trips west to Hakone and Fuji need an early start to be worth the fare. Our ranking weighs guide quality heavily here, because in Tokyo the guide is the product. On Outty we rank every Tokyo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tokyo Shinjuku Chopsticks Making Class, Tokyo : Asakusa Chopsticks Making Class, Shinjuku Night Food and Bar Crawl. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tokyo?

+

Late March to May for blossom, October to November for clear Fuji views. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tokyo?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
