What you'll see and do

  1. A small figure waits for you on the steps of the Church of Notre- Dame-de-l’Assomption. But don’t be fooled! Behind her stands the woman who built one of the greatest female empires ever seen: Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel. In front of the Church of Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption, you will begin your journey into the fascinating world of Coco Chanel. A church—a choice far from accidental for Chanel. According to Gabrielle herself, she “died” for the first time at the age of twelve, when her father left her at an abbey in the care of the nuns. From this strict and regimented religious environment, Chanel drew her first inspirations.

    10 minutes here

  2. In front of the first Chanel boutique, at 21 Rue Cambon, you will discover how Gabrielle, a young woman who was once nobody, gave birth to “Coco,” the persona that would follow her throughout her life. The tour will stop in front of the boutique but will not go inside.

    10 minutes here

  3. The journey continues next door, in front of 31 Rue Cambon, which became Chanel’s headquarters. Here, you will grasp the full essence of Chanel style, as well as its impact on women’s lives: the liberation of the body, social norms, and its influence on society—a legacy still felt today. In front of the Chanel boutiques, the “Grande Mademoiselle,” as she is nicknamed, will make sure you know your classics! Which Chanel creations revolutionized the history of fashion? How do her designs reflect the designer’s private life? Don’t worry if the little black dress or the “cloche hat” mean nothing to you—Mademoiselle will be delighted to enlighten you. The tour will stop in front of the boutique but will not go inside.

    10 minutes here

  4. In front of the façade of the Ritz Paris, you will discover the splendor of Place Vendôme, with its luxury boutiques, the ever-present Chanel store, and the famous Ritz Hotel. Gabrielle will, of course, share the story of her iconic perfume, Chanel No. 5, which draws inspiration directly from the very architecture of the square. The tour will stop in front of the Ritz but will not go inside.

  5. Colonne Vendome

Place Vendôme will also reveal the rivalries and little grudges that fashion designers throw right in each other’s faces. Many dream of dethroning Chanel, and many resent seeing the Grande Mademoiselle inserting herself where she has no business. First a hat designer, then a creator of dresses, Chanel revolutionized perfume... and now she turns to jewelry! The jewelers of Place Vendôme would never recover. But Place Vendôme is also where the darker sides of Coco Chanel’s life come to light: her “dark” years, her shadows, and the accusations that continue to fuel debates and controversies. Chanel remains a figure of chiaroscuro, willing to do whatever it takes to succeed... but just how far was she willing to go ?

A deep dive into Coco's unique and exquisite universe

A delicious escape in the luxurious Paris of the roaring twenties, narrated by the vibrant and talented Coco Chanel herself. I learned plenty of stories, fun facts and anecdotes about this emblematic woman and how much she's changed the world around her. Even if you think you already know it all, book it, you won't be disappointed !

Exciting and very well performed

Coco Chanel’s character tells her story, from her poor childhood to her rise in fashion world. We are led to the iconic places of her life such as Place Vendôme (the Ritz) and all to the legendary Chanel boutiques and workshop on Rue Cambon. The actress playing Gabrielle Chanel draws us her world from the very first minutes and travel with us through decades. I had a wonderful experience !

The Secrets of Coco Chanel : Unraveling the Fashion Icon: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Paris.

How much does The Secrets of Coco Chanel : Unraveling the Fashion Icon cost?

+

Prices start at $169 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Paris usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does The Secrets of Coco Chanel : Unraveling the Fashion Icon take?

+

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Paris is not rushed.

Is The Secrets of Coco Chanel : Unraveling the Fashion Icon worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 23 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Paris, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule The Secrets of Coco Chanel : Unraveling the Fashion Icon?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is The Secrets of Coco Chanel : Unraveling the Fashion Icon suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book The Secrets of Coco Chanel : Unraveling the Fashion Icon?

+

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Paris can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Paris and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does The Secrets of Coco Chanel : Unraveling the Fashion Icon start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Paris within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Paris?

+

Paris rewards travelers who book ahead. The headline museums sell timed entry weeks out, the best food walks cap at eight people, and the Seine cruises that are worth doing are the ones that leave after sunset. Everything below is scored by the Outty Ranking so you can tell a genuine local favorite from a coach-tour filler in a single glance. On Outty we rank every Paris experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Louvre Museum Essential Guided Tour Semi Private 6 GUESTS MAX, Louvre Museum Premium Guided Tour 6 GUESTS MAX Entry Included, Paris City Center Free Walking Tour (Tip-Based). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Paris?

+

April to June and September to October, when queues thin out and terraces stay open late. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Paris?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
