What you get

    About this experience

Billy started his Island Jet Ski Tour in 1992. There are many imitators, but only one Original Island Jet Ski tour! Our guides are licensed and local, so they know the waters surrounding our island like their backyard - because it is! Full Island Loop: You completely circle Key West, a trek that is impossible for most larger boats due to shallow backcountry waters. Sightseeing from the Water: You get unique vantage points of famous landmarks, including the Southernmost Point buoy, Mallory Square, and Sunset Key. Marine Life: The route passes through the Key West backcountry (mangroves), where it's common to spot dolphins, sea turtles, rays, and tropical birds. Freestyle "Play" Time: Unlike strictly regimented tours, this includes a dedicated "free play" segment where you can go full throttle, practice carves, or jump wakes in a safe, open-water zone.

Key West Jet Ski … 5 Stars Isn’t Enough

If you’re thinking about doing a jet ski tour in Key West, stop thinking and book this one. It was hands down one of the highlights of our trip! The scenery was incredible, and to top it off, we even had multiple flyovers from Navy fighter jets that made an already amazing experience even more unforgettable. The jet skis were in great condition, and the ride was the perfect mix of excitement, sightseeing, and fun. A huge shout-out to our guide, Benjamin, who made the entire experience unforgettable. He was knowledgeable, funny, energetic, and made everyone feel safe while still making sure we had an absolute blast. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does, and his enthusiasm is contagious. And let’s not forget his assistant, Nacho! He was fantastic—friendly, helpful, and always making sure everyone was comfortable and having a great time. Benjamin and Nacho make an outstanding team. Finally, a message for Benjamin’s mom: Whatever you did raising him, well done! He has to get all that personality, kindness, and sense of humor from you, because there’s no way someone ends up that awesome by accident! If you’re visiting Key West, do yourself a favor and book this tour. Five stars isn’t enough!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this incredible review! We couldn't ask for a better compliment than being one of the highlights of your Key West trip. We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed the beautiful scenery, the excitement of the ride, and even the surprise Navy jet flyovers—that certainly makes for a memorable experience! It's also wonderful to know the jet skis and tour exceeded your expectations. A special thank you for recognizing Benjamin and Nacho. We'll be sure to share your kind words with both of them. Benjamin will especially get a kick out of your message to his mom! His enthusiasm, knowledge, and sense of humor truly make every tour special, and we're lucky to have such an outstanding team creating unforgettable experiences for our guests. Thank you again for your glowing recommendation and for taking the time to share your experience. We hope to welcome you back to Key West for another adventure with us soon!

    Kick ass

As usual they never disappoint. Third time I’ve used these guys and the tour was awesome. Highly recommend. The only issue is with the Hilton Hotel that was too lazy to pick up the washed up see weed

Response from the operator: Thank you for your continued support and for choosing us for your third Jet Ski tour! We're thrilled to hear we continue to deliver an awesome experience and truly appreciate your recommendation. We also appreciate your understanding regarding the seaweed, as that area is maintained by the hotel and is outside of our control. We look forward to welcoming you back for your fourth adventure the next time you're in Key West!

The Original Key West Island Jet Ski Tour from Barefoot Billy's: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Key West.

How much does The Original Key West Island Jet Ski Tour from Barefoot Billy's cost?

    +

Prices start at $140 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Key West usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does The Original Key West Island Jet Ski Tour from Barefoot Billy's take?

    +

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Key West is not rushed.

Is The Original Key West Island Jet Ski Tour from Barefoot Billy's worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 371 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Key West, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule The Original Key West Island Jet Ski Tour from Barefoot Billy's?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is The Original Key West Island Jet Ski Tour from Barefoot Billy's suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book The Original Key West Island Jet Ski Tour from Barefoot Billy's?

    +

Around 130 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Key West can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Key West and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does The Original Key West Island Jet Ski Tour from Barefoot Billy's start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Key West within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Key West?

    +

Key West is a boat town. The only living coral barrier reef in the continental US sits seven miles offshore, and reef trips, sunset catamarans and backcountry kayak runs are the core bookings, alongside Hemingway house and Duval history walks. Our ranking weighs boat capacity and reef site rotation, which separates the good operators from the party cruises. On Outty we rank every Key West experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Shark and Wildlife Viewing Adventure in Key West, Southernmost Food & Cultural Walking Tour by Key West Food Tours, Half-Day Trip from Key West with Kayaking, Snorkeling & Sunset. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Key West?

    +

December to April, dry season and calm reef water. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Key West?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
