What you'll see and do
This is our personal favorite lunch spot in the entire city. Thick meatballs with a topping of cheese, served piping hot, are absolutely delicious. Their all-meat Potenza is also delicous, and they are willing to give you a sample of their food. They are so in-demand that we cannot always go there, so this part of the tour is optional, but if you are lucky you will have an excellent meal there in addition to the rest of the tour. It's an unforgettable experience.
15 minutes here
River Street Sweets a huge variety of candy, pasteries, and even gelato. It is a huge part of our tour because you can sample both pralenes and also gelato here. Other treats include chocolate coated marshmallows, and lunchboxes filled with candy. It's a great time, especially for younger guests.
10 minutes here
At Sir Poppington's, they pop fresh every morning. One of the longest-running snack stores in the entire Greenville area, they have a unique flavor for you. We love the bacon and chedder popcorn, but maybe you would prefer the candy-coated fruit punch? There are even unique mixes made just for certain cities, like Chicago. You've never seen a selection of popcorn like this.

Fireforge Crafted Beer
As the most popular brewery in the downtown Greenville area, Fireforge has a reputation to maintain. Many of their beers have won awards, including the light American Lager, Game Time Decision. Light, dark, malty, sour, it's all here somewhere. For those who want to try something different, they even have coffee-flavored drinks and their high alcohol "Winter Warmer". While there are some non-alchoholic options, this is geared towards beer fans, you may want to ask for a different location if that doesn't work for you. This portion of the tour is not available on Mondays, as they are closed and we can't do anything about that. Fireforge is only available at the 4 PM time, except on the weekends when they have additional hours (open at 11:30). Please book at those times.
Pass by without stopping
Honey and honey accessories, that's what they do at Savannah Bee Company. Every day they offer samples from multiple products, but mainly, from honey. All of their products are responsibly harvested and are a premium offering on the market. They even have cosmetic samples you can check out as well. This portion of the tour has limited availability on Sundays.
10 minutes here
Greenville Beer Exchange
Incredible selection, great atmosphere. The Greenville Beer Exchange has over 200 beers, wines, ciders, ales, meads, and even sakes. Their all-wood bar in the back has classic video games as well as a cool pinball machine. It has the selection of a warehouse store, with the charm of a neighborhood bar. While we won't be getting a large drink here, every small sample they offer is absolutely delicious. This portion of the tour has limited availability on Sundays.
15 minutes here
If you want an incredible selection, that's Byrd's. They have the typical chocolate chip, of course, but also crazier flavors like Lime Cooler and Scotch Oatmeal. Byrd's entire business runs on offering samples to guests like you, so they are more than happy to have us. The store itself is very cool, as they even have an awesome "cookie truck" display. It really feels like a place you would visit as a kid.

A large part of your tour is the "Customization" part. We do a massive number of tours, so we expect that you will want to hear a bit from another tour. These include; -History, we know all about the rich textile village that Greenville used to be. Or perhaps you want to hear about the Civil Rights Movement here? We know a huge amount of info on this. -Perhaps art works for you, we can show you the absolute best exhibits in the city, or see some outdoor murals/paintings. -Haunted tours were the first ones we ever did. Greenville has a rich history of hauntings from urban legends of the Reedy River to the creepy but beautiful Springwood Cemetery. -Any tour that you want can be mixed in. Pets, things to do for kids, and Relocation info are all things we do in other tours. Just tell us what you are looking for. -There are also other places that offer samples like Rocket Fizz. If you want food all the way through, tell us. It's just a bit of a walk to get there.

Staying up until 2 AM most days, Insomnia also has more than just cookies. They offer free samples of their ice cream all day. If you are a real night owl, then this place is perfect for you. Ocassionally, they offer limited samples of their cookies which are baked up hot and fresh. All of this takes place in the Camperdown area, which is beautiful in and of itself.

The Greenville Sampler, a 2 Hour Food Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Greenville.
How much does The Greenville Sampler, a 2 Hour Food Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Greenville usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does The Greenville Sampler, a 2 Hour Food Tour take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Greenville is not rushed.
Is The Greenville Sampler, a 2 Hour Food Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Greenville, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule The Greenville Sampler, a 2 Hour Food Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is The Greenville Sampler, a 2 Hour Food Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book The Greenville Sampler, a 2 Hour Food Tour?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Greenville can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Greenville and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does The Greenville Sampler, a 2 Hour Food Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Greenville within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Greenville?
+
Greenville, SC packs its best experiences into walkable neighborhoods, local food, and day trips nearby. Outty ranks every bookable tour and activity in Greenville by rating quality, review depth, booking demand and value, so you can see the standouts before you book. On Outty we rank every Greenville experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The 1-Hour Greenville History and More Walking Tour, Greenville City Segway Tour, Pedego Electric Bike Tour at Greenville. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Greenville?
+
Spring and fall bring the best weather and lighter crowds in Greenville, while summer has the widest choice of tours and evening activities. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Greenville?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
