Not enough information about the experience. We should have asked questions.

It was a good experience overall and Echo was a really great guide! She knew a lot about St. Augustine and she was very personable. What we didn't like was not being given any details about the experience that would have been helpful. We didn't know how much alcohol was involved (a lot) and we are not big on alcohol. We did not know how much walking was involved from venue to venue (a lot) and if you aren't prepared with the right shoes or you have difficulty walking, we would not recommend it. The choices of food are made for you, which is a problem if you don't like certain things. For example, we went to a Greek restaurant and only one of the three of us could eat what was served. The flavors for the other two were not something they would choose. Even a choice between two items would have been great. We were unaware and not told anything - such as an overview of where we would be going and what we would be doing - in advance. As we sat for some time at one place, everyone having finished their meal there, I had to ask what we were waiting for. That's when I learned there was a scheduled timeline and we were waiting until the scheduled time for the next place. Due to our alcohol issues (not being much of drinkers) we asked to skip the second pub. Due to palate issues, one of the meals was largely untouched by the group. This information is not to discourage you, but to inform you. On the other side, we thoroughly enjoyed our time with Echo, and we did learn about new places in St. Augustine. She does a great job. We would recommend this experience but also let it be known to ask about the specifics.

It was a great time! Our guide Aaron had some fun stories about the ghosts of St. Augustine as well as the history of the city itself and the food and drinks were superb!

    Gourmet food with ghosts

We had an incredible time on our tour with Frederik. He was so knowledgeable of so many of the nooks and crannies of the spooky side of St. Augustine. He gave a very enthusiastic and energetic presentation that was a delight to listen to and overall was a wonderful dinner and conversation companion. He had so many fun and intriguing side stories about the ghosts in the area as we walked and truly gave us our money’s worth in time and information. He also tailored the experience to us since we’re not big beer drinkers, he found us something that suited our tastes better. The food and drink was outstanding and the establishments that hosted us were friendly and welcoming and even had some of their own ghost stories to share with us. Also, it was lovely to see how many the places we visited respected the owner of the company and were excited to see us coming.

Response from the operator: Frederick is wonderful and he knows his stuff. Our city has amazing tours and people, it feels like a hometown experience everywhere you go. Thank you and come back and see us again.

Echo’s knowledge of St Augustine history is unsurpassed! A lovely trek, tapas and cocktails, and visiting corners of our town we had not explored. Highly recommended!

The Ghoulish Gourmet Haunted Food Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for St Augustine.

How much does The Ghoulish Gourmet Haunted Food Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $129 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in St Augustine usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does The Ghoulish Gourmet Haunted Food Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in St Augustine is not rushed.

Is The Ghoulish Gourmet Haunted Food Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in St Augustine, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule The Ghoulish Gourmet Haunted Food Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is The Ghoulish Gourmet Haunted Food Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book The Ghoulish Gourmet Haunted Food Tour?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in St Augustine can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in St Augustine and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does The Ghoulish Gourmet Haunted Food Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central St Augustine within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in St Augustine?

    +

St Augustine is walkable history: Castillo de San Marcos, Spanish quarter walking tours, trolley loops, lighthouse climbs and some of the best-attended ghost tours in the country. Guide storytelling quality is the main variable. On Outty we rank every St Augustine experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Medieval Torture Museum with Ghost Hunting and Tiny Art Gallery, St. Augustine's Wine, Cocktail and Food Experience, Dolphin and Wildlife Adventure of St. Augustine. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit St Augustine?

    +

February to May and September to November. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in St Augustine?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
