    Memorable San Diego Day Tour

Julia is one fantastic tour guide. She is very knowledgeable about the sites and could explain the historical importance & architecture behind. The weather was hot yesterday, and she made sure we were all cool, comfortable in the minibus with cold drinks & snacks. Her seafood restaurant recommendation was exceptional as well. Thank you for everything!

Response from the operator: Dear 547vkp, Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful review. We are delighted to hear that your Famous San Diego Private Tour was such a memorable experience. Julia will be thrilled to know how much you enjoyed your time with her. She truly takes pride in sharing the history, architecture, and stories that make San Diego so special. It is also great to hear that she kept everyone cool and comfortable during the warm weather and that her seafood restaurant recommendation was a hit. We are so grateful you chose us to host your day in San Diego, and we hope to welcome you again soon for another adventure. Whether you visit us here or at one of our sister locations in Los Angeles or Las Vegas, we will be ready to create another unforgettable experience for you. Famous San Diego Private Tour with Pickup was excellent

The Famous San Diego Private Tour with Pickup was excellent! There were five of us traveling and the private tour was fantastic. We started the tour hungry as we were running around all morning, so Amy graciously altered the tour to allow us to grab the absolute best tacos (as she told us!) from Tacos el Gordo (try them if you can) in the Gaslamp area. Then we saw so many other sights, Balboa Park, Coronado Island (and the big bridge we crossed to get there), the coastline. It was a fun tour and Amy has so much knowledge! She a joy to have as a tour guide.

Response from the operator: Dear nav386, I am absolutely blown away by your dedication to experiencing so many of our tours! Having you take our Coronado e-bike tour, both Gaslamp and La Jolla Segway tours, and now our Famous Private Tour truly showcases the range of experiences we offer. Your reviews have been incredibly detailed and helpful for other travelers. Amy's flexibility in adjusting the tour to include that Tacos el Gordo stop is exactly what makes private tours so special - we can customize the experience to match our guests' needs and energy levels! It's this kind of personalized attention that we strive for, and Amy exemplifies this perfectly. There's nothing better than combining local culinary gems with our city's iconic sights like Balboa Park, Coronado Bridge, and our beautiful coastline. As someone who has experienced nearly our entire San Diego portfolio, I would love to personally assist you in planning any future adventures in Los Angeles or Las Vegas. Your enthusiasm for exploration and appreciation for local insights makes you exactly the kind of guest we love to host at any of our locations! Warmest regards, Kenneth CEO, Another Side Tours, Inc.

    San Diego City Tour

Having done several city tours in the US, I found this tour to be of lesser value than most. It was short and not that informative. We booked last minute and that may have been a factor. The driver was prompt, nice and the vehicle was immaculate.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of our city tour. We're sorry to hear that you didn't find our tour as informative as you had hoped. We strive to provide our guests with a comprehensive and enjoyable experience, and we regret that we fell short in your case. It's possible that booking last minute may have affected your experience, as we often encourage guests to book in advance to ensure availability and optimal tour conditions. Nevertheless, we appreciate your feedback and will use it to improve our service for future guests. We're glad to hear that our driver was prompt, nice, and that the vehicle was immaculate. We pride ourselves on providing a comfortable and safe ride for all our guests, and we're happy to know that we met your expectations in this regard. Thank you again for your review, and we hope that you'll consider giving us another chance to show you the best of our city.

The Famous San Diego Private Tour with Pickup: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for San Diego.

How much does The Famous San Diego Private Tour with Pickup cost?

    +

Prices start at $199 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in San Diego usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does The Famous San Diego Private Tour with Pickup take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in San Diego is not rushed.

Is The Famous San Diego Private Tour with Pickup worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in San Diego, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule The Famous San Diego Private Tour with Pickup?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is The Famous San Diego Private Tour with Pickup suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book The Famous San Diego Private Tour with Pickup?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in San Diego can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in San Diego and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does The Famous San Diego Private Tour with Pickup start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central San Diego within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in San Diego?

    +

San Diego is an outdoor-first city: whale watching from December through April, La Jolla kayak and snorkel runs year round, harbour cruises and the USS Midway, plus Balboa Park museums when the marine layer sits low. We rank water operators on group ratios and gear quality, which is where the cheap La Jolla trips fall down. On Outty we rank every San Diego experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include USS Midway Museum Admission: Valid Any Date, Taste of Little Italy in San Diego, San Diego Whale Watching Cruise. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit San Diego?

    +

March to May and September to November, either side of the June overcast. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in San Diego?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
