What you'll see and do
At The Dinner Detective, you’ll tackle a hilarious and challenging crime while you feast on a fantastic dinner. Just beware! The culprit is hiding in plain sight somewhere in the room, and you may find yourself as a Prime Suspect before you know it! Our engaging and unique murder mystery dinner theatre performances have been playing across the country since 2004. Our show is very different from traditional murder mystery dinner shows. We will hide non-costumed actors in the audience that are pretending to be part of the crowd. This results in a much more social and interactive evening than with other shows. Our shows are set during the present day and take place in real time. Over the course of the night, our costumed Detectives will uncover clues, interrogate audience members that may or may not be part of the show, and help everyone get closer to solving the mystery.

A Great Date!
We had a great time! The food was good, the people were fun and we enjoyed ourselves. The mystery was more difficult to solve than I expected, but when it was revealed, it all came together. I like that real cases are used.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much Sarah!

Total Waste of $$$
The Dinner Detective Murder Mystery Dinner Show was a total waste of money ( $166 for two tickets ). The Dinner Theaters are the best with professional actors. And the fees are almost the same. The acting terrible and the actors ( two women screeching and talking over each other ) struggled to keep the flow of the evening. They use the crowd to pull and try to act out parts and the presentation was sloppy. The food was awful. We asked the organizer for our food to be boxed and he said that I need to ask the catering staff! The catering staff refused to give a box! We left without having the dessert. When we have paid for the food and dessert, we should be allowed to take it with us.
Response from the operator: Hello! The Dinner Detective is very different from a typical murder mystery event, and we're sorry the show was not to your liking. Our venue is not allowed to box up food per health and safety codes which are out of our control. Thanks for joining us, and we hope you have a great holiday season!

A Real Bust - Save Your Money
The best part of the evening was when it was finally over. The acting was poor and the room set-up was poor. We couldn't hear 50% of what the actors said. The chicken was so overcooked it was hardly edible.
Response from the operator: Hello! The Dinner Detective is very different from a traditional murder mystery show, and we're sorry the event was not to your liking. We will pass along your food comments to the venue. Thank you again for joining us, and we hope you have a wonderful week!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Fort Collins.
How much does The Dinner Detective True Crime Murder Mystery - Fort Collins, CO cost?
+
Prices start at $89 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Fort Collins usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does The Dinner Detective True Crime Murder Mystery - Fort Collins, CO take?
+

Is The Dinner Detective True Crime Murder Mystery - Fort Collins, CO worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 25 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Fort Collins, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule The Dinner Detective True Crime Murder Mystery - Fort Collins, CO?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is The Dinner Detective True Crime Murder Mystery - Fort Collins, CO suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book The Dinner Detective True Crime Murder Mystery - Fort Collins, CO?
+
Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Fort Collins can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Fort Collins and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does The Dinner Detective True Crime Murder Mystery - Fort Collins, CO start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Fort Collins within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Fort Collins?
+
Fort Collins, CO packs its best experiences into walkable neighborhoods, local food, and day trips nearby. Outty ranks every bookable tour and activity in Fort Collins by rating quality, review depth, booking demand and value, so you can see the standouts before you book. On Outty we rank every Fort Collins experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guided 3-Hour Fort Collins Old Town Food Tour, Guided Hiking Tours near Fort Collins, Fort Collins Ghost Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Fort Collins?
+
Spring and fall bring the best weather and lighter crowds in Fort Collins, while summer has the widest choice of tours and evening activities. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Fort Collins?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
