The Kivukoni fish market is a trading spot for fish and seafood that were caught or produced in the Kivukoni area as well as the neighboring places. Askari Monument
The Askari Monument is a statue that is located at a roundabout in Dar es Salaam connecting Samora Avenue with Maktaba Street. The Askari Monument was built in 1927 as a tribute to the African soldiers who fought in World War I on the allied forces side in Africa. A German statue used to be at the place of the Askari Monument, which was then removed by the British when they arrived in Dar es Salaam in 1916. (stopping is not permitted but there is time to take pictures from inside the vehicle)

A day in Dar es Salam
Comprehensive, covered all main highlights of Dar es Salam. Gideon was a very pleasant and professional guide. Museum and fish market were really interesting and the cultural village fun.

A wonderful insight into life in Dar es Salaam
Gideon gave us a wonderful insight into life and culture in Dar es Salaam. We saw the frenetic activity of the fish market, so incredibly busy. He drove us through the busy streets of Dar es Salaam where motorbikes do their own thing! We saw the low income part of the town, where the people struggle to survive. The visit to the handicrafts market was very interesting and the dance show was a lot fun.
