Very nice experience. I had never ridden a horse, but with the help of the instructors/guides, I felt comfortable. They explained everything very well and gave us the right horse to enjoy a splendid view onto Gran Canaria. I would very recommend El Salobre!

What a view; sweet horses and great people!

Great tour, professional and super kind tourguides Maja and Rhiannon gave us a safe and super fun experience. I would definitely recommend it, even for people who don’t have a lot of experience with horses or families with little kids this will be a great experience to remember!

Do not use.

Would not advise you use. Horses very agitated and grumpy. We had a mixed group of very experienced riders to first timers. Beginners (2 9 year olds) were just left to walk their horses alone to the mounting area. Members of the public had to help when their horses refused to walk because no one was watching and our group was each already holding a horse. One member of our group received a very nasty bite from her horse. She was later told it was an ex racehorse that had been abused. If this was the case why was a worker not carefully holding the bridle or tied the horse up whilst she tried to mount? They then swapped her to another horse who started bucking when she got on. Understandably she lost all confidence and did. It want to ride. No first aid was given. No equipment available except for a horse leg ice pack- they so sits because the human ones had all been stolen- suggests being bitten happens very regularly. Horses were family, agitated and not in good condition. Ride was boring and very dusty. Do not waste your money. This is a very poor set up with little care of horses or the people riding.

Firstly, we were genuinely sorry that your daughter was injured when one of our horses pinched her arm while she was mounting. Although you repeatedly describe this as a "very nasty bite," the injury fortunately did not require stitches or further medical treatment. Nevertheless, we treated the incident seriously and, as a gesture of goodwill, immediately refunded both your daughter's ride and your own, despite the fact that the incident was accidental. Following this, you requested that we also refund the entire private group, even though the remaining members completed the excursion without incident and enjoyed their ride. We did not consider that request to be justified. We must also correct several factual inaccuracies: * The horse involved is **not** an ex-racehorse and has never been presented to you as such. * It is **not** a horse with a known history of biting. * Our horses are **always supervised** in the mounting area. Before every ride, we conduct a comprehensive safety briefing lasting approximately 30 minutes, during which we explain how to approach, handle and mount the horses safely ( always under our supervision). * We do have first-aid supplies on site. The cooling pack offered was a reusable cold pack that is suitable for both people and horses. Suggesting that it exists because guests are "regularly bitten" is entirely false. Your comments about our horses being neglected or in poor condition are equally disappointing. Our horses receive daily professional care, regular veterinary and farrier attention, appropriate rest, and are matched carefully to each rider's experience. Their welfare has always been, and continues to be, our highest priority. We fully understand that an unexpected incident can be upsetting, and we sincerely regret that it affected your family's day. However, repeating and expanding claims that are demonstrably inaccurate does not fairly represent what happened or the standards we maintain after more than 25 years of safely introducing thousands of guests—including many children and first-time riders—to horse riding. We wish you and your family all the best.

Brilliant afternoon out

Very friendly team and explained everything well. I was very nervous as never been on a horse before but the horses were very well behaved and friendly. I felt quite comfortable, it was a shame it was during a mini heat wave as i did get too hot but the team did ensure we were all looked after and well hydrated! We even got to buy our horses old shoes, I had Pepsi and she was very calm all be it a bit stubborn and kept stopping 🤣 saying that she naturally followed the other horses and didn’t take any directing. thanks so much to the lovely team we had a brilliant time! Good for beginners who have never been on a horse before
