Termas de Papallacta
The Papallacta Hot Springs are just a few hours from the city of Quito. On our tour you can enjoy a full day of relaxation. The day begins with a visit to the lookout of the Papallacta Lagoon where you can admire the beautiful landscape and feel the cold of the moor, then continuing towards the tourist complex: “Termas de Papallacta” Spa. First, we will make a short but pleasant walk along the path “La Isla” to learn a little more about the flora and fauna of the place to later have some free-time to relax in the magical hot springs of the spa. At this time, you could also have your own lunch break, and then continue a day of relaxation until you return to Quito.

Thank you Carolina!!
The tour is absolutely worthwhile. I was so lucky to connect with.Carolina as my guide. The drive up there is incredible even though it got a little bit misty as we got toward the top. It rained on and off throughout the day, but it didn’t stop us from doing a short hike near the pools. And since it was just she and I besides the driver. She joined me in every activity and the pools and was incredible company. What a beautiful soul and so passionate about sharing her knowledge about the vegetation and scenic areas and she was super knowledgeable about the local history. I learned so much. In addition, got to soak in the thermal pools for an extended period of time. She was a trooper and joined me for everything and we had a great traditional lunch meal too. She managed our time well and provided a lot of flexibility

Amazing day to relax!
We had amazing day, small group of three to see Pappallacta. We couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide and driver, Pamela and Byron were amazing and very welcoming. It’s clear that Pamela loves her work as a tour guide and her joy in spending the day showing us her country was such a nice way to experience things. We did this tour the day after arriving in Equador and highly recommend, it’s a good way to relax after long travel days. And don’t skip the massages, it’s worth it!

We did this your on our first day after a long flight to relax a little. We did a small walk first along a river then had a relaxing two and a bit hours in the pools. There were many pools to choose from and go between, just a relaxing experience all round. Pamela was our guide and she was fantastic! She really made the experience for us!

A relaxation dream!
Spending Christmas with our guide Pamela was the light of our trip. The tour had lots of history and information about Ecuador and Quito specifically, and included lots of naturalizing before the baths. Papallacta was beautiful, restful, and quite clean. They have towels for rent and swim caps for sale. After we went to a local restaurant which had delicious local food. Again, the star of the show was Pamela- she was friendly, knowledgeable, and took excellent care of our group.

The most beautiful and peaceful place.
It's the most beautiful place. In all of my travels, I have never been to a place so peaceful, breathtaking, and relaxing. To step out of the room right into the hot springs is like a dream. The views are just picturesque. The resort is wonderful, the food was fantastic and it just melts all the stress.

Termas de Papallacta Hot Springs full day tour from Quito: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Quito.
How much does Termas de Papallacta Hot Springs full day tour from Quito cost?
+
Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Quito usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Termas de Papallacta Hot Springs full day tour from Quito take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Quito is not rushed.
Is Termas de Papallacta Hot Springs full day tour from Quito worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 80 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 82 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Quito, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Termas de Papallacta Hot Springs full day tour from Quito?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Termas de Papallacta Hot Springs full day tour from Quito suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Termas de Papallacta Hot Springs full day tour from Quito?
+
Around 29 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Quito can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Quito and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Termas de Papallacta Hot Springs full day tour from Quito start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Quito within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Quito?
+
On Outty we rank every Quito experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cotopaxi tour from Quito -horseback ride and hike-NO TOURISTY way, Baños Full Day Tour from Quito Including Entrances and Activities, Gastronomic and Cultural Walking Tour of Quito with Tastings. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Quito?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Quito?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
