Just book it

My friend and I did a customized private tour across Quito, the Amazon, Banos, and two islands in the Galapagos. Rodney was our tour guide on the mainland and he was by far the best. I cannot recommend him enough. Everyday we knew exactly what we were doing and what we needed to prepare for regarding weather, terrain, and difficulty. Once we left the mainland for the islands, it wasn't as smooth. There were a lot more people involved and less communication, but I think that may just be how it works in the islands. So worth it regardless. I highly recommend!

Response from the operator: Dear Angela, Thank you so much for sharing your experience and for choosing Ecuador Local Guide for your customized adventure across Quito, the Amazon, Baños, and the Galápagos Islands! We are especially happy to hear that Rodney made such a positive impression. Your kind words about his professionalism, organization, and dedication mean a great deal to us. We will be sure to share your compliments with him—he will be thrilled to know he helped make your journey so memorable. We also appreciate your honest feedback about the Galápagos portion of your trip. The islands do operate differently from the mainland, as services are coordinated by several local operators and are subject to strict national park regulations and schedules. We understand that this can sometimes make communication feel less seamless, and we are always working with our local partners to improve the overall guest experience. Thank you again for your recommendation. It was our pleasure to be part of your Ecuador adventure, and we hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable journey in the future! Warm regards, The Ecuador Local Guide Team

Amazing Ecuador Experience with Ecuador Local Guide!

This was our first time traveling to Ecuador, and after loving Mexico on our previous trip, we didn’t know what to expect — but Ecuador exceeded all our expectations! We found several tour options online and contacted several companies, but ultimately chose Ecuador Local Guide because of their fast responses and flexibility to accommodate all our needs. We visited Otavalo Market, Mindo Cloud Forest, Amazon and Galápagos islands. It was a long program, but absolutely worth it. Our group of six friends had an amazing time, and every step of the way we felt supported. The guides and drivers were professional, attentive, knowledgeable, and fun, sharing interesting facts, travel tips, and genuinely enjoying the experience with us. If you’re thinking about traveling to Ecuador, we highly recommend Ecuador Local Guide — 100%. They’re a smaller company, but extremely professional and personal in their service. Thank you for everything,we truly loved our trip! 🇪🇨❤️We are enjoying at last day at the Spa Papallacta for now and tonight flying home.

Response from the operator: Dear Mike, Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and heartfelt review. We are truly delighted to know that your first experience in Ecuador exceeded your expectations and that your journey with us was so memorable. It was a pleasure designing a program that included highlights such as Otavalo Market, Mindo Cloud Forest, the Amazon Rainforest, and the unforgettable Galápagos Islands. We are especially happy to hear that, despite the length of the program, every moment felt worthwhile and well supported for your group. Your kind words about our guides and drivers mean a great deal to us. Their professionalism, passion, and genuine enjoyment in sharing Ecuador are exactly what we strive to deliver in every journey. Knowing that you felt cared for and accompanied throughout your trip is the greatest reward for our team. We are also glad to know you are ending your adventure with a relaxing experience at Termas de Papallacta—the perfect way to close such an incredible journey before heading home. On behalf of the entire Ecuador Local Guide team, thank you for trusting us and for your 100% recommendation. We would be honored to welcome you and your friends back to Ecuador anytime in the future. Wishing you a smooth flight home and many wonderful memories from Ecuador. A memorable experience

You haven't lived until you’ve felt the thin, cold air of the Andes in the morning and the warm, salty spray of the Galápagos by afternoon. 12 days of switching between a heavy coat and a swimsuit. My skin is tanned, my hair is messy, and my soul is finally quiet.

Memorable Trip to Ecuador and Galapagos Island.

We went for bird photography, the guide on mainland Mr. Javier was awesome, full knowledge of birds. Guide went beyond to show and do photography of humming bird in mountain side. Accommodate vegan food. Also the guide Mr. George in Galapagos was very helpful putting together through different island. During our trip we had health emergency, they went beyond their limit to help and made our trip safe. We loved their hospitality. I would recommend to any one you are in safe hands. magnificent Andes, Rain forest and fantastic views

The trip was amazing We visited Quito, the Amazon Rain Forest , Galapagos Islands, the provinces/towns? of Papallacta, Pinsaqui, Cotacachi and Otavalo. The La Selva Lodge is excllent. Papallacta is most beautiful as well as and the towns mentioned close by. The Galapagos cruise and the creatures are beautiful and very good but the islands themselves are barren though the waters and the ocean are fantastic. The travelling very early by plane and geeting up very early each day to see the wild life was tiring. Rain forest and Papallacta, the volcanoes, the huge Andes Mountains with thier clouds, deep valleys full od luxuriant vegetation, towns with so many waterfalls and flowing rivers, and the expansive greenery is unique and a must see. Over all famtastic. There are gangs but the GTC was very good in keeping us safe at all times Thank you to Andres at the GTC

Response from the operator: Dear Sharoon, Thanks so much for using our company. We are really committed to provide the best service and the most important to design a program according your preferences that help us to provide a personalized service as well. Reading all your comments make us happy and motivate our team to continue making come true the dreams of many travelers. Thanks again for using ours small family company. Ecuador Local Guide Team

The Best of Ecuador & Galapagos 12 Days / 11 Nights: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Quito.

How much does The Best of Ecuador & Galapagos 12 Days / 11 Nights cost?

+

Prices start at $930 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Quito usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does The Best of Ecuador & Galapagos 12 Days / 11 Nights take?

+

Plan for about 288 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Quito is not rushed.

Is The Best of Ecuador & Galapagos 12 Days / 11 Nights worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Quito, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule The Best of Ecuador & Galapagos 12 Days / 11 Nights?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 144 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is The Best of Ecuador & Galapagos 12 Days / 11 Nights suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 288-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book The Best of Ecuador & Galapagos 12 Days / 11 Nights?

+

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Quito can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Quito and add a light layer if any part of the 288-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does The Best of Ecuador & Galapagos 12 Days / 11 Nights start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Quito within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Quito?

+

On Outty we rank every Quito experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cotopaxi tour from Quito -horseback ride and hike-NO TOURISTY way, Baños Full Day Tour from Quito Including Entrances and Activities, Gastronomic and Cultural Walking Tour of Quito with Tastings. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Quito?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Quito?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
