The most complete experience of tequila immersion!

Where do I begin…this experience is such a rich and complete immersion in the world and knowledge of Tequila. I have experience going to wineries in multiple places, both in the US and in Mexico (my uncle is a sommelier), and this is probably one of the most amazing ones! Ximena is not only fun and knowledgeable, but I, because of a bad experience with my credit card, got to see her humanity and integrity during our experience. This says a lot to me. It shows that she not only loves what she does, but she loves the people she serves. The class went well into detail of how tequila is made and we got to taste and be explained about the flavor profiles of multiple different tequilas. I came out of this experience so incredibly content and I would come and bring my friends on many other occasions. Ximena, you know our experience and I am so appreciative of your understanding and your level of patience with us. Thank you so so much!

Not the typical tasting!

This is a wonderful class - much more than a typical tasting. My friend and I learned how to determine the quality of pretty much any alcoholic beverage. So educational and fun. And the tequilas were excellent. This was a rare and valuable experience!

I can’t wait to return for her wine and mezcal tastings!

Last night we did a tequila tasting with Jimena, and it was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. Jimena is warm, fun, and incredibly knowledgeable—she’s a true sommelier. We had an amazing time and learned so much. We live in San Miguel de Allende now but used to live in California near wine country, and I spent years in the restaurant business. I’ve done countless tastings with other sommeliers, “experts” at distilleries, brand ambassadors, and more—but not once has anyone ever explained how to properly sniff a spirit or wine and, more importantly, what it actually means. I always thought I was missing something. After this tasting, I feel completely empowered and excited to start recognizing notes I’ve been overlooking for years. I can’t wait to return for her wine and mezcal tastings, and I will absolutely be booking this experience for every out-of-town visitor we have.

Lovely way to spend an afternoon.

Fun afternoon with learning. Alex is knowledgeable, funny, etc. A great way to start learning about what makes a good Tequila.

An excellent tequila induction

This was a great introduction to tequila - I felt like I learnt a lot in between sampling some excellent drinks and learning how to gauge quality. Alex was an excellent host - a real ‘no-BS’ sommelier who really knows his stuff (an accredited sommelier in 4 different countries) and is happy to share his knowledge. Highly recommend - but be warned that you’re unlikely to leave sober!

Tequila Tasting -Masterclass and Blind Tasting: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for San Miguel de Allende.

How much does Tequila Tasting -Masterclass and Blind Tasting cost?

+

Prices start at $125 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in San Miguel de Allende usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Tequila Tasting -Masterclass and Blind Tasting take?

+

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in San Miguel de Allende is not rushed.

Is Tequila Tasting -Masterclass and Blind Tasting worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 20 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in San Miguel de Allende, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Tequila Tasting -Masterclass and Blind Tasting?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Tequila Tasting -Masterclass and Blind Tasting suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 1.5-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Tequila Tasting -Masterclass and Blind Tasting?

+

Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in San Miguel de Allende can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in San Miguel de Allende and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Tequila Tasting -Masterclass and Blind Tasting start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central San Miguel de Allende within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in San Miguel de Allende?

+

On Outty we rank every San Miguel de Allende experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tacos and Tequila Walking Tour with Taste of Miguel, Half Day Excursion - Horseback Riding Adventure in SMA, Historical and Cultural Walking Tour of San Miguel de Allende. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit San Miguel de Allende?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in San Miguel de Allende?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
