10/10 Would Recommend

Our tour guide was wonderful and gave us lots of interesting Indigenous history and histories of the construction and preservation of each site. While the restaurant lunch at Teotihuacan was lackluster, the sites, the guide, and our tour companions made the day so fun and interesting, I have to give 5 stars.

Fun educational and comfortable

Maria our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and had first hand experience working in the archeological site of the pyramids. She was able to answer any questions we had and was super friendly and seemed to really love teaching us about the different sites. The tour bus was comfortable and a smooth ride both ways. This was my second time visiting the pyramids and would recommend doing this tour over going on your own.

Must-do trip!

We had a very nice trip with Jesús and Marió and the other cool participants. Marió had a lot of knowledge and it was very interesting what he told us about all the places we visited. We had a lot of fun and there was not a single thing that could have been done better ☺️

Response from the operator: "First of all, let me thank you for visiting Mexico; we are happy to serve people from all around the world; thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us; we're glad you feel we're on the right track! Best wishes."

Bad Tour, look elsewhere

Do NOT under any circumstances choose this tour company. There are plenty of others offering the same tour that I’m sure are better and offer the promised experience. This one does not. The tour was advertised as ‘hotel pickup’ however that is false, the day before the tour we were instructed to meet at a meeting point that was a 20min taxi from our hotel. Everyone on the tour was collected there and all the other tour guests we spoke to were also annoyed there was no hotel collection / drop off as advertised. The first attraction Tlatelolco listed on the tour we only drive past and did not stop at, even though it said “admission included.” The third stop was approx 30mins at a gift shop with loads of other tour buses, which was a waste of time. The tour guide did not speak English, so had enlisted her student nephew to translate. He was very nice but was still learning English, so it was not ideal and he is not a tour guide. It was painfully slow and the information did not seem very helpful, so we ended up requesting to leave the ‘tour’ and requested meeting point at a set hour. Everyone else did the same and it was not well organized for the meeting points or managing expectations for the timings of the day, which led to delays and wasted time. The tour could have easily been half the time with better organization and a bilingual tour guide. Tons of wasted time. The tour was advertised as lunch included, however we had to pay for our lunch. We queried this at the time, but at the time of lunch the translator had already left for the day, the tour guide spoke zero English and didn’t appear to care as she was already eating her own lunch, so the driver stepped in to try to help out. He didn’t have us on a list of people who’s tour included lunch, so we faffed around for 10mins trying to login to the Viator app to prove our tour included lunch, by which time we were frustrated and told them never-mind we’ll just order and pay out of pocket. We did manage to access the confirmation to prove we were supposed to have lunch but were so frustrated by this point and the restaurant wasn’t anything special, so we just ordered a starter to share. Very poor communication, the day before the tour we had tried to contact them to check why they had told us a random meeting point 20mins away instead of the promised hotel pick up. We tried to contact them via phone (number not in service), WhatsApp text which only got an auto-reply and never responded and viator app messaging. Their first response ignored the question entirely and their second response said they couldn’t logistically do the hotel collections.

Response from the operator: We are in serious investigation about your review, we are really sorry with your experience, this tour is qualified as an excellent tour, but if there is a dissatisfied customer, then we will work to improve in all aspects. About your case we understand about the pick ups and it is something that we are already investigating to know what happened because they are included, however due to the size of Mexico City we cannot cover all the hotels due to time and logistics issues, so we do ask you to go to certain places and that way we can give all travelers a better experience. Regarding the guide issue we offer a sincere apology, we are taking measures and investigating to do the best we can with the situation. As for the food, we have buttons with different packages where you can see what is included and perhaps an error on our part or yours made this experience even worse. We offer you a deep apology.

The tour guide makes the difference!

Ivan was so knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the the sites. He shared a lot great information about Mexico and the culture. The tour was excellent. Well organized, great communication and nice small group size. I highly recommended this tour. The best one of the 5 we have done in Mexico City. Good pace, great information, ontime and wonderful driver too!

Response from the operator: First of all, let me thank you for visiting Mexico; we are happy to serve people from all around the world! Thanks for the awesome review! It means so much when our best customers share their experiences we're grateful for customers like you! We hope this encourages other travelers to enjoy this adventure. Teotihuacan, Shrine of Guadalupe & Tlatelolco: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mexico City.

How much does Teotihuacan, Shrine of Guadalupe & Tlatelolco cost?

+

Prices start at $59 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mexico City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Teotihuacan, Shrine of Guadalupe & Tlatelolco take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mexico City is not rushed.

Is Teotihuacan, Shrine of Guadalupe & Tlatelolco worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 56 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mexico City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Teotihuacan, Shrine of Guadalupe & Tlatelolco?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Teotihuacan, Shrine of Guadalupe & Tlatelolco suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Teotihuacan, Shrine of Guadalupe & Tlatelolco?

+

Around 20 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mexico City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mexico City and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Teotihuacan, Shrine of Guadalupe & Tlatelolco start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mexico City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Mexico City?

+

On Outty we rank every Mexico City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Frida Kahlo VIP [Museum Tickets Included] Walk, Markets & Churros, Local Foodie Adventure CDMX: Tacos & more with Sherpa Food Tours, Mexico City Historical Centre Food Tour with 7 Tastings & Drinks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Mexico City?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Mexico City?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
