Tenerife Landscape Photography Workshop
I had a great experience on Detlef's recent Landscape Photography Workshop. Very helpful and sharing of his knowledge and I was able to caputre some lovely landscape photos - looking forward to getting back home to download them and edit them. Saw locations that I would have otherwise missed had I not being on Detlef's workshop. Would highly recommend his workshop for anybody that has an interest in photography and want's to capture some unique locations. Wishing Detlef every good wish in the future for his workshops and exhibitions. Patricia

Excellent photographic experience.
This photography workshop was a very enjoyable experience. Detlef really gets you thinking about your composition and controls that you use to achieve your ideal shot. Detlef is very encouraging and eager to share his knowledge, clearly explaining each step as you go. Reflecting on the experience I can honestly say that I now view my photography very differently and feel more confident in my decision making. The workshop has really enabled me work fully in manual and to understand and appreciate what each change of aperture or shutter speed actually does to an image. If you enjoy photography and would like to improve your skills then I can highly recommend this workshop.

Unforgettable photography workshop in Tenerife – highly recommended!
I participated in a 5-hour photography coaching "Tenerife Landscape Highlights" with Mr. Schmalow. Already the start was perfect: I was picked up directly from my accommodation and brought back again – great service! Mr. Schmalow is a very friendly and competent teacher. In addition to many valuable tips on landscape photography, he has also conveyed exciting information about Tenerife itself. That made the tour particularly interesting. Our first photo stop was at Mirador de los Poleos – a vantage point with fantastic views of the surrounding landscapes, perfect for stunning photos! Afterwards we took a short break with a great view of the Teide. They were accompanied by delicious goat cheese, fresh bread and a glass of red wine – a real little culinary highlight! Even coffee was ready, but since I haven't been drinking one for years, I had to fit here unfortunately.;-) We ended the workshop at Charco El Diablo, a fascinating natural pool on the coast with spectacular rock formations. The location was a real photographic challenge – but the sunset there was just fantastic! Overall a great workshop where I learned a lot and took beautiful pictures with me. Many thanks to Mr. Schmalow for this unforgettable afternoon!

A photography experience - more than just f stops!
Detlef gave a great experience with locations that were inspiring and with a unique viewpoint. He was practically a native english speaker ( he is German ) and we had a good laugh during the experience, it can’t all be about f Stops!! If you ate interested in photography at any level this experience will be of value. I am a seasoned photographer ( ARPS ) and so was more interested in his particular take rather than practical instruction. Highly recommend.

Amazing Photography Workshop for Beginners and Experienced Photographers Alike!
Overall Rating: Amazing experience, Extremely informative for beginners and experienced photographers with a great teacher; Will be booking again for further tours and workshops!!! Detlow hosts an amazing workshop in teaching even the most basic lessons of photography to students. Communication with him was extremely easy as he speaks German, Spanish, and English very well and he quickly arranged a virtual meeting before our set tour to discuss potential shooting locations based on my desires and experience. When the day came, he met me at the site of Charco El Diablo (easier for me to drive than to arrange for him to pick me up, which was an option) and after quick hellos, we were on our way. Throughout the tour, Detlow was guiding me on how to properly use my camera in manual mode, how to set up a scene to capture the lighting and landscape the best. His instructions were clear and concise and I came away from the day with a incredibly better understanding of my camera and how to take truly magnificent photographs that properly capture just a small portion of Tenerife's gorgeous western coast. For a 5 hour excursion, it was an amazing price and I know it has only scratched the surface of everything to learn for taking photography, whether as a hobbyist or aspiring professional. Detlow also offered to do a virtual workshop teaching post-production on photos to bring out the full potential that today's cameras are able to capture and I was quick to jump at that chance as well. I have already begun discussing a follow up trip to take advantage of the amazing night photography possible on this beautiful island on Mount Teide. If I had to give some advice to prepare for this excursion, advice that will mostly repeat the information Detlow sends before hand, bring sunscreen water, and a good wide brimmed hat to help combat the sun. If you haven't experimented or learned about landscape photography in the past, it is a lot of patient and careful setting up shots and waiting for the perfect moment, all exposed to the sun. And there is quite a lot of sun in Tenerife. Finally, do not think your camera's battery will last on a single charge for the whole time. Nothing is more frustrating than finally setting up a perfect shot with the sunset slowly getting in place than to have your camera die when you are finally ready to start shooting. I hope if you are looking to delve into the world of photography, you jump at the opportunity to take one of these great tours, experience Tenerife with a local showing you the breathtaking sights and teaching you an invaluable lesson in photography that he has accumulated over a lifetime. I certainly have treasured the experience. Ratings: Communication: 5/5 stars; very easy keeping open lines of communication. Tour: 5/5; Helped find and explore a gorgeous spot for wonderful scenes to take pictures of that I will keep forever Support: 5/5; Had back up equipment to support if something was forgotten. Also made sure to tell me what to bring so I wouldn't be missing anything on the day. Post Tour: 5/5; has kept open communication with me and reached out to follow up on interest I expressed in further workshops. Price: 6/5!!!; Wonderful value for the package you are getting. Couldn't have asked for anything more without feeling I was paying too little.

Why this scores 60
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Tenerife Landscape Photography Workshop 5 hours: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tenerife.
How much does Tenerife Landscape Photography Workshop 5 hours cost?
+
Prices start at $142 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tenerife usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Tenerife Landscape Photography Workshop 5 hours take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tenerife is not rushed.
Is Tenerife Landscape Photography Workshop 5 hours worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tenerife, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Tenerife Landscape Photography Workshop 5 hours?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Tenerife Landscape Photography Workshop 5 hours suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Tenerife Landscape Photography Workshop 5 hours?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tenerife can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tenerife and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Tenerife Landscape Photography Workshop 5 hours start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tenerife within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Tenerife?
+
On Outty we rank every Tenerife experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Whale watching & listening Eco-Catamaran Tour with Snacks &Drinks, Group Surfing Lesson at Playa de las Américas, Tenerife, 3-hour Whale and Dolphin Watching and Listening Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Tenerife?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Tenerife?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
