Perfect combination of food and history!

When we booked this experience we were not quite sure what to expect and it turned out to be exactly the tour we’d been hoping for: scenic, relaxed, interesting and genuinely different from the typical day trip you get as a part of a big bus tour. What also made it special was the way the day connected food, history and culture. Our guide didn’t just take us to places to eat, she explained the background of the dishes we were tasting and how Irish food traditions were shaped over time, including influences from across Europe. It added so much meaning to every stop. The local cafes and country pubs felt authentic and welcoming and the food was really good, and the different types of beer at Wicklow Brewery was so delicious. If you want a Wicklow tour that goes beyond sightseeing and helps you actually understand Ireland through its food and stories, this one is 100% worth it.

Great day in the Wicklow Mountains

We did the taste of Wicklow private day tour and it was one of our favorite days in Ireland. Pickup was super easy and right away it felt like a day out with a local. The Wicklow Mountains are unreal - wide open views, winding roads, little villages and scenery that looks like it belongs in a movie (which… it literally does). Our driver-guide was fantastic: friendly, knowledgeable and great at keeping the day moving without ever feeling rushed. We hit a really fun mix of film locations tied to Braveheart, PS. I Love You and Vikings, plus a few quieter hidden gem stops we never would’ve found on our own. We really got the stories and context, which made it super interesting. The food stops were a highlight too. We ate in a couple of local cafés/pubs and everything felt authentic - cozy vibe, genuinely warm service and really good fresh food. And honestly, ending up in a proper Wicklow pub after a day in the mountains was exactly the Ireland experience we were hoping for. What I loved most is that it’s customizable. We told them what we were into (scenery, local food, not too touristy), and they shaped the day around that. If you want an easy, comfortable way to see the best of Wicklow- with great views, great food and zero stress, this tour is totally worth it.

A great day trip to Wicklow!

This was a fabulous trip, a great day trip from Dublin, without spending long amounts of time commuting. We passed through little villages and got a feel for the Irish countryside and the lush green landscape. The driver guide was fantastic and the vehicle was super comfortable. Beautiful landscape, tasty treats and lots of fun. Highly recommend!
