- What makes this food tour special? It’s not just about tasting delicious dishes — it’s a window into Balinese culture. You’ll get to try Babi Guling, a traditional roast pork dish that’s usually reserved for ceremonies. So while you’re enjoying the flavors, you’re also learning about the customs and rituals that make Bali unique.
- Can the tour cater to special dietary requirements? We do our best, but since this tour focuses on authentic local gastronomy, some of the places we visit aren’t able to accommodate dietary needs. Unfortunately, we’re unable to cater for vegetarian, vegan diets or gluten allergies/intolerances.
- Can I bring my young kids along? This tour is best suited for adults and older children — unfortunately, little ones under 6 aren’t permitted. Also, keep in mind that the food experience is very local and authentic, so there won’t be any “kids’ meals” available.
- What kind of food will I get to try on this tour? Get ready for a true taste of Bali! You’ll sample a variety of local favorites, including: Jaje Bali – a traditional Balinese dessert, often colorful and made from rice flour and coconut. Babi Guling – a ceremonial-style roast suckling pig, cooked on a rotisserie and packed with flavor. Indonesian soups like Bakso (meatball soup). Each dish tells a story — and you’ll get to hear it while tasting your way through Bali’s culinary traditions.

Eat great food!
So good! Got to be a tourist in a town that doesn't really do tourists. Ate excellent and authentic food and learned about Balinese culture in an active and friendly tour. Great experience

A tour I did not get to experience.
Hello everyone, here is my honest review. We did not even get to attend this tour as the address was incorrect. They did not even try contacting us about where we were. We got lost multiple times. We could not contact them and they did not respond to our messages/calls. I am very disappointed about this whole situation as I was looking forward to trying some traditional Balinese street food. I would like a refund. After this situation, I have lost my appetite. If I could leave zero stars I would. Absolutely diabolical. From Ruby, Lydia, and Sophie.
Response from the operator: Hi Ruby, Thank you for getting in touch with us about your booking in Bali. We are sorry to know that you got lost during your travels to the meeting point, but more so that you were unable to reach our team on the day of the tour. We would be happy to investigate your file further, and our Sales Support team will reach out to you directly to request some specific information that would be required for reconsidering your tour as a no-show/cancellation. We did host others that were booked onto the same tour along as yourselves- who did meet us at the notified starting point- so we would appreciate the opportunity to review the information that you had been given ahead of time. We look forward to discussing your experience and working towards an amicable outcome with you. With thanks, The Intrepid Urban Adventures Team

A wonderful authentic experience
It was lovely to experience a little of how the people of Bali actually live their lives in an urban setting. And we learnt so much about their food and culture

Delights in Denpasar
This was a truly fun and enjoyable experience under the watchful care of Putra, our guide. We went to two different markets and tried authentic Balinese street food. Each dish was delicious and the local vibe was great. The Balinese are a lovely, welcoming people.

Very yummy and authentic experience!
What an experience! My family and I had a great time with Komang. We loved going to the night food market and trying some traditional Balinese dishes. They were all really yummy and unique. Komang spoke incredible English and was very friendly. He even taught us some phrases in the local Balinese language. He was very kind and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed at all times. This was a brilliant tour and is definitely something you should do if you’re looking for an authentic and local experience.

Why this scores 61
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Taste & Explore Bali: Denpasar Street Food & Historic Sites: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Seminyak.
How much does Taste & Explore Bali: Denpasar Street Food & Historic Sites cost?
+
Prices start at $45 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Seminyak usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Taste & Explore Bali: Denpasar Street Food & Historic Sites take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Seminyak is not rushed.
Is Taste & Explore Bali: Denpasar Street Food & Historic Sites worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 27 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Seminyak, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Taste & Explore Bali: Denpasar Street Food & Historic Sites?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Taste & Explore Bali: Denpasar Street Food & Historic Sites suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 6. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Taste & Explore Bali: Denpasar Street Food & Historic Sites?
+
Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Seminyak can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Seminyak and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Taste & Explore Bali: Denpasar Street Food & Historic Sites start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Seminyak within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Seminyak?
+
On Outty we rank every Seminyak experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Best of Bali Waterfalls: Tibumana, Tukad Cepung and Tegenungan, Bali Instagram Tour: The Most Scenic Spots, Ubud Hot Springs and Waterfall Private Guided Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Seminyak?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Seminyak?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
