Great last day in Iceland with private SouthCoast tour
Our tour guide Egill was amazing. This was our last tour in Iceland and it was a great ending to our 10 days in Iceland. He was able to accurately read us and our abilities ( group of 4 active 70’s ). He even took us to see a house supposed to be inhabited by Elves. It is amazing how the landscape changes in Iceland. Great day of waterfalls. Glacier, black beach, and a nice lunch.
Response from the operator: Dear Sharon, Thank you for choosing our private South Coast Tour to finish your Iceland adventure. We’re delighted Egill adapted the day so thoughtfully to your group and made sure you could enjoy the experience comfortably. From the waterfalls and glacier to the black beach and unexpected elf-house stop, it sounds like a memorable final day. Safe travels, and thank you for exploring Iceland with us. Great Private Tours with EastWest
We did the private South Coast tour with Gonçalo and it was fabulous. Throughout the day Gonçalo adjusted the timing and pace to what suited my family. He was fun and full of information . I have toured the South Coast before while the rest of my family had not — regardless he made it all fun and new to all of us. He even through in some hidden gem stops not on most tours. The day before we also did a private tour of Golden Circle booked with Egill R as our guide. That tour was also fabulous with Egill’s knowledge from growing up in the area adding great flavor to the amazing sites. The company is communicative and professional and all of our tour guides were excellent. I would definitely book with them again.
Response from the operator: Hi there, Thank you so much for your fantastic and detailed review! We are absolutely delighted to hear you had such a great experience on both of your private tours with us. It is wonderful to know that Gonçalo was able to tailor the South Coast day to suit your family and keep it fresh and engaging for everyone, even with prior visits. We also love that you enjoyed the hidden gem stops, those moments often make the day extra special. Egill will be very happy to hear your kind words as well. His local knowledge and personal connection to the area really add a unique perspective to the Golden Circle experience. We truly appreciate your comments about our communication and professionalism, and it means a lot to hear that all your guides made such a positive impression. Thank you again for your recommendation, and we would love to welcome you back to Iceland for more adventures in the future! Warm regards, Marc EastWest Team Member

South Coast Private Tour was a 5 star experience!
This was our second tour with East West and decided to book the private tour because we needed to be back a little earlier for a custom dining experience arranged through a local chef. Martin picked us up right on time and was very enjoyable throughout the entire journey. We started with a glacier visit, progressed to the black sand beach (amazing), drove through the small nearby town for some great photos and then stopped at two waterfalls on the return trip. We did a quick stop for lunch because we had a time deadline, but the entire experience was very enjoyable and we liked the one-on-one information Martin provided us about Iceland and each specific place we were going to see. His knowledge of the history and other relevant facts was amazing. While the price of a private tour was little high, it was well worth the experience and the fact that we could tailor the timing to spend more or less time at a specific location. Martin was very conscious of our return timing and would update us regularly that we were within the timeline to see all the great things the South Coast has to offer and still back to Reykjavik in time.
Response from the operator: Dear Joe, Thank you for joining us on a private South Coast Tour. We are pleased to hear that Martin’s punctuality, detailed explanations, and attention to your schedule helped create a smooth and rewarding experience. It is great to know the flexibility of a private tour suited your plans so well. We hope to see you on board again and wish you safe travels. Kindest Regards, Miguel EastWest Customer Service

Perfect Day
We did a private tour of the Southcoast with Einar and had a fantastic day! Einar was so friendly and full of information! He was very flexible and was able to customize our tour based on the weather (it was pouring when we arrived at the Glacier) and our wishes. Our kids have fallen in love with Iceland’s bounce pillows (playground equipment) and Einar carved out some time for my kids to visit one along the way. Einar also took lots of great pictures of our family, something I find very valuable for a guide. We would highly recommend a tour with Einar and Eastwest!
Response from the operator: Dear Fearless14425444554, Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful and heartwarming review! We're so happy to hear your private South Coast adventure with Einar was everything you hoped for. His flexibility, attentiveness, and genuine care for each family's experience really shine through, and we're glad he was able to tailor the day to suit your family — bounce pillows and all! It’s wonderful that your kids found their own Icelandic highlight, and that Einar helped capture these special moments for you. We’d love to welcome you back for more unforgettable days exploring Iceland. Warm regards, Rosie EastWest Team Member

Why this scores 55
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Tailor Made South Coast Tour: Private and Customizable: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reykjavik.
How much does Tailor Made South Coast Tour: Private and Customizable cost?
+
Prices start at $1520 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reykjavik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Tailor Made South Coast Tour: Private and Customizable take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reykjavik is not rushed.
Is Tailor Made South Coast Tour: Private and Customizable worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Reykjavik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Tailor Made South Coast Tour: Private and Customizable?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Tailor Made South Coast Tour: Private and Customizable suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Tailor Made South Coast Tour: Private and Customizable?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reykjavik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reykjavik and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Tailor Made South Coast Tour: Private and Customizable start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reykjavik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Reykjavik?
+
On Outty we rank every Reykjavik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Reykjavik Food Walk - Local Foodie Adventure in Iceland, Small-Group Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon with Ticket & Kerid Crater, Reykjavík Small group Walking Tour - by CityWalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Reykjavik?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Reykjavik?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
