What you'll see and do
Thingvellir National Park
Thingvellir National Park where the oldest parliament was founded in the world over 1000 years ago. Many crucial events in Icelandic history took part here and it is also on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Here you will also see how the earth is ever so slowly pulling apart along the North-America and Eurasian tectonic plates.
30 minutes here
Strokkur
Geysir geothermal area in Haukadalur where you can see geysers, hot springs, steam vents and eerie blue algae. Although the Great Geysir is relatively dormant, Strokkur, also being one of the largest and most powerful geysers, it erupts almost every 5 minutes.
30 minutes here
Gullfoss Falls
Many consider Gullfoss to be the queen of Icelandic waterfalls, as it is both high and mighty and stumbles in a deep gorge. Gullfoss is in fact 2 separate waterfalls, the upper one has a 11m drop and the lower one with 21m, beautifully angled creating a dramatic cascade.
30 minutes here
Seljalandsfoss waterfall
Seljalandsfoss is just over 60m surrounded by beautiful cliffs and slopes. There is a footpath behind the waterfall where depending on road conditions we can actually take a walk behind the waterfall for a different view.
30 minutes here
Skogafoss is one of the biggest waterfalls in Iceland. Also measures around 60m in drop, it boasts a width of 25m. On sunny days it’s not unusual to see double rainbow through the spray created by the waterfall.

Awesome
Saw a lot well in a relaxed manner. Diana from the company did everything perfectly from places to stay and restaurants. She reponded to our questions immediately. I could not believe how efficient she is. AO the guide was excellent. He was flexible, friendly knowledgable. We have been to over 90 countries and this was one of our favorite custom tours.

Amazing
We have just returned from an amazing trip to Iceland which would have turned out very differently had we not booked with Arctic Advanced. Before we left the UK, Diana was very helpful and easy to chat to whilst suggesting the best trip for our family. Diana and Ao had the forward planning to let us know on the day we arrived that there was an extreme snow blizzard with high winds coming in over the weekend closing most of the roads and even the airport. They kindly rescheduled our day trips so that we would still get to see the Golden Circle and the South Coast. We saw breathtaking waterfalls, glaciers and many more natural wonders. All the time Ao was chatty, friendly and made us feel relaxed, as if we were traveling with a dear friend. We always felt safe in his hands whilst driving through the deep snow and blizzard conditions. If we had booked group bus excursions, these would have been cancelled and we would have returned home without seeing all those wonderful sights. I thoroughly recommend booking with Arctic Advanced as your tour can be customised to your interests and the weather, avoiding the crowds where ever possible. Thank you Ao and Diana for giving us the best possible experience.

Why this scores 54
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
The Golden Circle and South Coast Waterfalls Private Tour from Reykjavik: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reykjavik.
How much does The Golden Circle and South Coast Waterfalls Private Tour from Reykjavik cost?
+
Prices start at $1650 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reykjavik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does The Golden Circle and South Coast Waterfalls Private Tour from Reykjavik take?
+
Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reykjavik is not rushed.
Is The Golden Circle and South Coast Waterfalls Private Tour from Reykjavik worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Reykjavik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule The Golden Circle and South Coast Waterfalls Private Tour from Reykjavik?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is The Golden Circle and South Coast Waterfalls Private Tour from Reykjavik suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book The Golden Circle and South Coast Waterfalls Private Tour from Reykjavik?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reykjavik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reykjavik and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does The Golden Circle and South Coast Waterfalls Private Tour from Reykjavik start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reykjavik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Reykjavik?
+
On Outty we rank every Reykjavik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Reykjavik Food Walk - Local Foodie Adventure in Iceland, Small-Group Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon with Ticket & Kerid Crater, Reykjavík Small group Walking Tour - by CityWalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Reykjavik?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Reykjavik?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
