Symi Island is paradise with colour

paid £25 for a 5 hour stay by boat from rhodes Kolona Harbour to Symi island, symi was breathtaking and a little paradise. Multi coloured houses and apartments, churches lit up the hills, i would imagine breathtaking at night time, i went at 10am. I followed the harbour path, and after 1 mile there is a lovely beach, carry on up and there is Plaka beach, the place is amazing and quite peaceful calm beaches. Mythos is quite cheap, i self catered myself to keep the bucks down, plenty of bars, restaraunts, shops, supermarkets in back streets, jewelry shops, antiques, but the island is a most for photography lovers, it is calm and just a place on heaven, amazing place.

Response from the operator: Dear Jason, Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience! We’re delighted you enjoyed the beauty of Symi, its colorful architecture and peaceful atmosphere truly make it a special place to explore. Your photos are fantastic and capture the charm of the island beautifully, inspiring future travelers to discover it for themselves. We’re glad you made the most of your time there and hope to welcome you again soon on another scenic Cretan Holidays excursion!

    The tour guide was very...

The tour guide was very informative and friendly, providing clear instructions throughout the day. Unfortunately the weather was not great and the sea was very choppy, so the trip to the monastery was cancelled. Hence the tour was basically a return trip to Symi from Rhodes. Symi was very pretty and we were given 3 hours free time to explore with an optional 1-hour guided tour by the tour guide. We opted to skip the guided tour and wandered round the town on our own. If we had gotten to see the monastery as well, then the tour would have been worth the money - unfortunately (due to no fault of the tour provider), we did end up paying a lot for what was essentially a return ferry to Symi. We still had a lovely time and kudos to the tour guide for keeping us informed of the situation with the weather.

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad you enjoyed the beauty of Symi and had the opportunity to explore the town at your own pace. We’re also pleased to hear that your tour guide provided clear information and support throughout the day. While the weather unfortunately affected the monastery visit, it’s wonderful that you still had a lovely time. We hope to welcome you on another Cretan Holidays excursion in the future!

    Good day out

We went on the yellow hulled Diamond and had a great time the boat was clean and offered a bar with hot and cold drinks. We paid 35 euros. We tried to haggle but got no discount. Others did and got the trip for 30 euros. Stick with it travel for no more! Shame about the swim, was offered 40 minutes but got about 20!

Response from the operator: Dear Chris, Thank you for your review. We’re glad to hear you had a great time on board. However, it seems there may be a mix up, as the prices you mention don’t match those of our excursion. Still, we're happy you had a pleasant experience overall!

    Disappointed in Symi trip

Great boat journey. Would have liked a commentary on route. Walk around the town. Limited history. Stopped at a sponge store (favoured by guide) Restaurant recommended by guide on behalf of Tui. Expensive to eat everywhere. Only opportunity to get in the sea was from a few steps next to a restaurant…. Into the harbour. Via restaurant area with sun loungers. Hence packed !!! Visit to church was interesting, history wise. But nothing else there. Not for famillies

Symi Island Full-Day Boat Trip from Rhodes: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rhodes.

How much does Symi Island Full-Day Boat Trip from Rhodes cost?

    +

Prices start at $31 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rhodes usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Symi Island Full-Day Boat Trip from Rhodes take?

    +

Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rhodes is not rushed.

Is Symi Island Full-Day Boat Trip from Rhodes worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 29 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rhodes, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Symi Island Full-Day Boat Trip from Rhodes?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Symi Island Full-Day Boat Trip from Rhodes suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Symi Island Full-Day Boat Trip from Rhodes?

    +

Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rhodes can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rhodes and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Symi Island Full-Day Boat Trip from Rhodes start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rhodes within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Rhodes?

    +

On Outty we rank every Rhodes experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Makarounas Fishing Boat Trip with swimming stop and BBQ on board, Rhodes Exclusive Swim Cruise Cocktail Open bar & Gourmet Buffet, Athens cruise: Agistri, Moni/Metopi, Aegina with lunch & drinks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Rhodes?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Rhodes?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
