Private Sydney Half Day Tour
Before reviewing the tour, we must address the excellent communication we received in planning our Sydney tours with Julia and Scott. The knowledge they shared with us was always timely and incredibly valuable in helping us determine how we wanted to spend our limited time in Sydney. Their flexibility in constructing a customized and personalized experience for us was greatly appreciated. On to the tour! Scott arrived on time and eager to start the day. We started our day with some city sightseeing and landed at our first stop near Mrs. Macquarie's Chair. The views back to the Opera House and Bridge are unbelievable. We were fortunate to have great weather and clear skies for the tour, which helped our inferior photo-taking capabilities. We then moved on to check out Bondi Beach, but on the way, Scott showed us some fantastic places with wonderful backstories, i.e., Harry's Cafe De Wheels. We also worked our way through some of the awesome neighborhoods of Sydney before landing at Bronte Beach for a brief leisurely coastline walk. From there, we went to our final morning stop, Bondi Beach, soaking in the incredible views. We booked a Sydney Opera House tour that afternoon, so Scott dropped us off near the facility. Julia provided us with several dining recommendations for lunch (all of which were GREAT). We can not stress enough what a wonderful tour this is for anyone seeking to get some city highlights or a specific set of places they want to see. We are confident you will receive superb communication/attention and have a remarkable experience.
Response from the operator: Dear Ken and Stan, Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to write a review - we really appreciate it! It was our absolute pleasure to assist you with your travel arrangements and then to host you for your Sydney and Blue Mountains Private Day Tours. Wishing you all the very best for your travels! Kind Regards Julia and Scott, Sydney Private Day Tours.

Best of Sydney if Short on Time!
Our private half-day tour with Sydney Private Day Tours is something you need to do if you are short on time! We had just come back from our cruise to NZ and only had a half-day to see some of city's most famous (and not so famous) highlights. Our guide Scott, was very professional, accommodating, informative and an all around nice guy! He tailored our experience to the things that were important to us, and also shared some sites that only locals would know. It was the perfect end to our trip. I would highly recommend Scott and Sydney Private Day Tours to anyone!
Response from the operator: Hi Jennifer, It was a pleasure to show you and your parents our beautiful city. The tour is an excellent way to see the best.of Sydney in a short period of time. We had a great day to explore Sydney and I am so glad you enjoyed the tour. Thank you so much for writing a review and I am looking forward to touring with you again when you return to Australia. There is much more to see. Best wishes, Scott Sydney Private Day Tours

Nicholas was very pleasant but it was pouring rain, so that kinda put a quirk in the works. He was about 25 minutes late and his kid had spilt popcorn all over the inside of his car. I had previously seen most of the sites when I’d been in Sydney a couple of weeks prior, so didn’t want to walk in the rain and see stuff I had already seen. He did take me up to Bondi and Manly, which was nice, and I got to see the bay and Opera House from a different vantage point. He did offer to take me where I needed to go after the tour, but the weather wasn’t looking too good. Would have been better if the weather had been nice. I only did it as I thought there may have been more places to see which weren’t on the regular tourist route, or I would have cancelled. After reading prior reviews, it appears a great way to “hit the high spots”, but it would have been nice if they had a back up tour when you’ve already been to the gardens, chair and Opera House.
Response from the operator: Dear Althea, Firstly let me sincerely apologise for the less than exceptional experience you had last week. Your driver/guide, Nick is our newest team member and after extensive training and excellent feedback we felt confident that our exceptional service standards would be met. We are extremely disappointed that this was not the case for your tour. We agree, there is no excuse for being late without contacting the customer and advising of the traffic delays due to bad weather conditions and there is absolutely no excuse for arriving in a vehicle that is not pristine and immaculate. As a tour guide myself, I can assure you that our other driver/guides are flexible, knowledgeable and very competent at customising tours due to bad weather and can cater for clients who would like enjoy more locations that are off the main tourist trail. Again, it is extremely disappointing that you feel you missed some of the wonderful, hidden Sydney locations. Rest assured, we will be working with Nick to ensure that this never happens again. Please get in touch with me directly as I would like to personally offer you my apologies and a credit voucher for another tour. Once again, thank you very much for your detailed and constructive feedback, we greatly appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Kind Regards Julia Owner & General Manager Sydney Private Day Tours

Fantastic Time With Julia
We spent a fantastic afternoon with Julia. We did a half day tour of Sydney and enjoyed every minute. Julia was born in Sydney and traces her ancestors back to the early days of Sydney’s prison colonies. As such she has wonderful stories about the history of Sydney. She took us all around the city and some of the major beaches. I feel like we have a new friend now in Sydney and would definitely recommend her and her company to anyone looking for a very personal and professional private tour.
Response from the operator: Dear Tom and Cassie, It was an absolute pleasure to meet you both last week, you were a joy to spend time with! Sydney truly is a beautiful city and the colourful convict history really brings the older parts of city to life. Being surrounded by water, the harbour and beaches lend that relaxed holiday feel to Sydney! You have definitely found a new friend in Sydney and we would be delighted to welcome you back in the future. I hope you had a wonderful time exploring Australia during the rest of you holiday! Thank you for taking the time to write a review and share your experience with others, Warm Regards Julia Sydney Private Day Tours

Sydney half day private tour was amazing!
If you would like to learn about the history as well as see the beautiful city of Sydney this is the perfect tour! Julia picked us up from our hotel and treated us like family as she introduced us to her home town. We had a tour the previous day with a group and Julia was happy to organize our time together based on the small amount of the city we had already seen. I wish we would have scheduled a full tour with her. We hope to return to Australia soon and will definitely contact this company for another private tour!
Response from the operator: Dear Christina, Thank you for taking the time to write a review and for the wonderful feedback! It was a pleasure to meet you both to be able to customise your tour to include the 'wish list' Koala's and Kangaroo's. Seeing the baby joey kangaroo up so close was amazing too. It is a thrill to hear that you both enjoyed learning about the lively convict history of Sydney! Wishing you an enjoyable onward journey and we hope to meet again in the future and show you more of the Sydney region (& perhaps Blue Mountains and Hunter Valley next time!) Kind Regards Julia Sydney Private Day Tours

Why this scores 68
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Sydney Half Day Highlights - Luxury Private Tour | Morning or Afternoon Avail: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sydney.
How much does Sydney Half Day Highlights - Luxury Private Tour | Morning or Afternoon Avail cost?
+
Prices start at $249 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sydney usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Sydney Half Day Highlights - Luxury Private Tour | Morning or Afternoon Avail take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sydney is not rushed.
Is Sydney Half Day Highlights - Luxury Private Tour | Morning or Afternoon Avail worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 30 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sydney, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Sydney Half Day Highlights - Luxury Private Tour | Morning or Afternoon Avail?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Sydney Half Day Highlights - Luxury Private Tour | Morning or Afternoon Avail suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Sydney Half Day Highlights - Luxury Private Tour | Morning or Afternoon Avail?
+
Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sydney can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sydney and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Sydney Half Day Highlights - Luxury Private Tour | Morning or Afternoon Avail start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sydney within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Sydney?
+
On Outty we rank every Sydney experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include WILD Wombat and Kangaroo Day Tour, All Inclusive, Depart Syd: Blue Mountains Best All Inclusive with Local Guide, Blue Mountain Small Group Tour All Inclusive. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Sydney?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Sydney?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
