Awesome family experience! A must do!
Camilla was great! She was fun to work with, a great instructor and shared a lot of information on cozumels history and heritage with us on the drive to the beach. Sabrina was awesome to communicate with before the trip. Responds quickly and made the process super simple and pleasant! I highly recommend this company and 10/10 would do this again!!

Good Group. Watch for conditions.
We purchased this for my daughter and her husband. Due to sea grass they were unable to surf, however reported having an absolutely wonderful time; drift snorkeling and paddle boarding. Given sea grass takes some time to grow if surfing is the goal I’d check in once on ship to determine what things actually look like for surfing with whoever you book with we didn’t think to do this. We are trying again in Dec. ❤️

Great Times in Paradise
I had a great experience learning to surf with Camille and the Highlife Mexico team! From the time I booked the team was very communicative, made sure weather and conditions were appropriate for my skill level, made sure I got to and from the lesson with no issues, and helped me have fun learning to surf. Camille was a detailed and pleasant instructor, providing the perfect level of training before getting in the water, and spoke English and Spanish fluently for an integrated bilingual group. Would definitely book again to keep improving my skills!

Excellent first time surfing
Our first surf lesson was an amazing experience! :) We met at a playa on the eastern side of Cozumel, at a beginner friendly spot, though with a bit higher waves that time - as we were told... Despite that, the experience was fantastic, Camilla was in the water with us, helping us with the boards, with the right waves, giving us advices and tips how paddle, stand up and ride! She was very patient, always smiling, very positive :) My both kids (12yo, 17yo) enjoyed the lesson, moreover they want to go surfing on the next vacation too... and me also :) Thanks Camilla ance again for the perfect time with you and the fantastic intro to surfing! :)

Surf fun
This was a 10/10 experience . It was exactly what we were looking for . It’s authentic , you get a tour of the island from the drive out to the surf spot , and the instruction was excellent ! I researched among 3 companies and I hope to come back the next time I’m in Cozumel . Camilla our guide also recommended a local restaurant after dropping us off . FYI surfing is a workout. Pack some water and sunscreen . You will be exhausted after ! Epic experience !

Why this scores 68
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Surf Lesson in Cozumel: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cozumel.
How much does Surf Lesson in Cozumel cost?
+
Prices start at $120 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cozumel usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Surf Lesson in Cozumel take?
+
Plan for about 3.3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cozumel is not rushed.
Is Surf Lesson in Cozumel worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 39 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cozumel, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Surf Lesson in Cozumel?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Surf Lesson in Cozumel suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Surf Lesson in Cozumel?
+
Around 14 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cozumel can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cozumel and add a light layer if any part of the 3.3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Surf Lesson in Cozumel start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cozumel within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cozumel?
+
On Outty we rank every Cozumel experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Jade Caverns and Mayan Village Cozumel ATV TOUR, Buggy, Beach & Snorkel Blast, ATV 4×4+Cenote+Snorkeling+Beach Club+ Lunch+Sabores de Cozumel. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cozumel?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cozumel?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
