Our first trip to the Grand Canyon was fantastic!

We enjoyed every minute of our tour with guide Steve B. He was very knowledgeable of the entire route and was always on top of any needs for us and the other guests. The itinerary matched what was presented. This was our first trip to the Grand Canyon, so we appreciated the history and information. Steve is very knowledgeable and passionate about the Grand Canyon, having done tours there for many years. He took us to several different overlooks which gave us a variety of perspectives. The scenery was absolutely majestic! We started at the eastern end of the Canyon and worked our way around to the South Rim, where we had a great view of the sunset. There were a lot of other tourists there, but I wouldn't say it was really crowded. We then stopped for dinner on the way back to Sedona. Our guide knew people everywhere we went, from the Trading Post to the South Rim to the restaurant. We were definitely in good hands. The whole trip, from pickup to dropoff, was about 12 hours, but it didn't seem that long.

    Sunset over Grand Canyon

Had an incredible day at the GC. We got lucky with a very small group of just the 4 of us which made everything so easy and fluid. Our guide Sheldon was very knowledgeable about all things Grand Canyon. Knowing all the places to see the most Beautiful views. Nothing I’ve ever seen was as stunning as the sunset over the Grand Canyon. If this works for you, I’d do this over any other GC tour. Sheldon especially knew exactly where to be and when for the most spectacular view I’ve ever seen.

    Spectacular!

We had a very full day, with several stops along the southern rim. Each stop had its own unique character, with the final location providing spectacular sunset views of the canyon. Our guide, Sheldon, provided a lot of information on the history, geology, flora and fauna of the area and timed our stops perfectly. The canyon experience was indescribable, more than I expected. We didn’t want to leave and stayed until the final sunset glow began to fade.

    Wonderful Geand Canyon Trip

What a great trip we had. Steveebe was our tour guide and made the whole day a lot of fun. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area, the drive up from Sedona, all the way up to the grand canyon and knew just about everything you could possibly think of from each of his guests' hometowns, and states and countries. When we got to the grand canyon, he had us stop at maybe four locations for a fixed period of time and we would have wasted time on our own. So he knew exactly how long we would need to take in what that view offered and move us on to the next one so we were efficient. I cannot overstate how much information he shared with us about the Grand Canyon, the views, the buildings, the fires. It was just all I could hope for. He allowed us time to eat in the park and souvenir shop and still make it out for our sunset view. Unfortunately, the clouds decided to do their thing and we were not able to get a proper sunset. But the day was well worth it, otherwise, and now I have a reason to go back. We can highly recommend this trip if you will be staying in Sedona or Flagstaff.

Sunset in the Grand Canyon from Sedona: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sedona.

How much does Sunset in the Grand Canyon from Sedona cost?

    +

Prices start at $241 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sedona usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Sunset in the Grand Canyon from Sedona take?

    +

Plan for about 10.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sedona is not rushed.

Is Sunset in the Grand Canyon from Sedona worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 120 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sedona, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Sunset in the Grand Canyon from Sedona?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Sunset in the Grand Canyon from Sedona suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Sunset in the Grand Canyon from Sedona?

    +

Around 42 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sedona can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sedona and add a light layer if any part of the 10.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Sunset in the Grand Canyon from Sedona start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sedona within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Sedona?

    +

Sedona's activity market is dominated by off-road jeep tours, and the difference between operators comes down to which trails they are permitted to run. Beyond that: vortex and energy walks, hot air balloon lifts at dawn, stargazing sessions in one of the darkest skies in the country, and Grand Canyon day runs north. We rank on permit access and group size. On Outty we rank every Sedona experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small-Group Grand Canyon Complete Tour from Sedona or Flagstaff, Sedona’s ONLY Guided ATV Tour: Western Red Rock Backcountry, Kayak Tour on the Verde River. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Sedona?

    +

March to May and September to November. Summer afternoons bring monsoon storms. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Sedona?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
