    Transport only

I am giving it one star solely because of, in my experience, the 'false advertising'. You are paying 40€/person for only transport to the peak, which you can do yourself with your private car. No guide, nothing else, only transport. The views and the experience are incredible.

    Nice views

At the peak it was cloudy and raining as management advised me before. Therefore we didn’t stay long at the peak but on the way down we had sunshine and could shoot plenty of good pictures. We had nice conversations during the drive up and down and the driver Miguel was very helpful and knowledgeable about Madeira.

    Mega

It was a fantastic tour, we were picked up super on time and the contact was top. Even with location via whattsapp. Super driven, very flexible and helpful. Can only recommend. We had a rental car, but we didn't want to drive through Monte ourselves, so we booked this. Highly recommended.

    Cancelled booking within hours

Cancelled within hours of departure, due to insufficient numbers. Spent all day in town as I couldn’t go exploring as I may have had trouble getting back to pick up point. I was really looking forward to the trip, was offered a chance to reschedule but had other things organised. I’m getting a refund but the day was wasted. If the vehicle had broke down or someone was suddenly ill or injured you can accept that, as these things happen. However, insufficient numbers on a holiday island is not acceptable as people plan their holiday. The trouble with, GetYourGuide booking platform, you don’t know who you’re booking with, so beware.

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Funchal can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Funchal and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Funchal?

    +

On Outty we rank every Funchal experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Jeep Tour Amazing West to Natural Pools -Full-Day, Porto Moniz, Seixal, Fanal Forest, Cliff Skywalk in Open Roof 4X4, West Tour-Fanal Forest & Porto Moniz Natural Pools Small Groups. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Funchal?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Funchal?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
