Awesome guide and trip

Without a doubt, this was the best day of our entire 10 day trip. The hike was invigorating, the beach and rocks gorgeous. But, it was our guide was Bruno, who made it amazing! He was very personable, fun and we laughed a lot! He made us feel comfortable in the jeep as well as on the trail. He pointed out thi ngs to see and gave great advice. He even helped us get back to our hotel at the end. You will love this experience!

Great experience!

Our sunset hike ended up being rained out but Flamingo made it so easy for us to adjust our plans. We ended up doing the Sintra Jeep safari and had an absolute blast. Our guide Bruno was so much fun to spend the day with.

Great, varied day out.

Fantastic day out with Gui. Weather wasn’t great for views but we had fun in the jeep, on the hike and enjoying tapas on the beach. Definitely recommend.

Save your money!

I recently booked this tour on my last night in Lisbon. I was really excited for the hike and to see the beautiful sites in Sintra. Our tour was in a “vintage” aka unsafe jeep that had bars above our heads. There were no seat belts in the back which felt really unsafe as our driver was speeding along the drive. Sadly we wizzed by Sintra and I wasn’t even able to appreciate its’ beauty. Unfortunately it started to rain so our guide decided to switch up our itinerary because it wasn’t safe to hike on the slippery rocks. If you’re interested in seeing cool palaces in Sintra, do not book this tour. It’s perfect for those seeking a thrill seeking jeep ride with beautiful views.

Response from the operator: Dear Wendi, Thank you for sharing your feedback about your recent tour with us. We are sorry tо hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We strive tо always provide great memorable experiences tо all our guests. Francisco did inform our guests about the metal bars before the tour started, as usual, but we acknowledge that you may not have heard the warning as you were at the back оf the group. While the bar іs at eye level and very visible, we deeply regret that you were injured and apologize for any distress caused. We appreciate your feedback and will ensure tо inform each guest individually from now on. Our vintage Jeeps from the 80s are part оf the unique charm оf our tours, and we use actual photos оf our vehicles іn our advertisements. Regarding the speed, Francisco drove at the usual pace, slowing down at key sights like Palácio Nacional, Regaleira, and Monserrate tо provide explanations, as usual. We advertise this tour as more focused оn fun and exploring the coastline rather than a traditional city tour with in-depth cultural explanations. Typically, guests who choose this experience prefer less detail about culture and history, as we offer other tours that delve more deeply into these aspects. While we can't control the weather, we strive tо make the best оf every situation, as Francisco did by arranging a different location for the picnic. We understand your disappointment about the rain affecting the beach hike. We also would have preferred the weather tо be nice as expected; іt caught us by surprise too. However, we dо inform guests that for safety and comfort, we may need tо change оr cancel the experience іf the weather changes unexpectedly. Given the positive comments from other guests оn the same tour, we believe the issue may have been a series оf unfortunate circumstances rather than the quality оf the tour itself. However, we invited you tо join us for another tour at nо cost. Given your feedback, we believe tours like the "Sintra Jeep Safari" оr the "Pena Palace Jeep Safari" would be more suitable for what you were looking for. Unfortunately you did not accept this offer of giving us the opportunity tо show you why our tours are the most popular and highly reviewed іn Sintra.  We greatly appreciate your feedback as іt helps us tо continue improving our services and ensure that we remain at the top. We wish you happy travels and all the best in your upcoming adventures. Best regards, The FlaminGO Experiences Team

Don’t miss this experience

Very cool experience! Our guide, Caleb, was great and a lot of fun. The beach you hike to is amazing, very well worth it. The food and wine was very nice as well.

Sunset Hike, Tapas & Wine at Secret Beach: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sintra.

How much does Sunset Hike, Tapas & Wine at Secret Beach cost?

+

Prices start at $79 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sintra usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Sunset Hike, Tapas & Wine at Secret Beach take?

+

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sintra is not rushed.

Is Sunset Hike, Tapas & Wine at Secret Beach worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 28 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sintra, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Sunset Hike, Tapas & Wine at Secret Beach?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Sunset Hike, Tapas & Wine at Secret Beach suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 12. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 5-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Sunset Hike, Tapas & Wine at Secret Beach?

+

Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sintra can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sintra and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Sunset Hike, Tapas & Wine at Secret Beach start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sintra within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Sintra?

+

On Outty we rank every Sintra experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Tour Sintra from Lisbon Palaces of Pena and Regaleira, Private Sintra Tour Palaces and Coast by Vintage Car or Jeep, Sintra Historical Jeep Adventure - Palaces & Secret Routes. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Sintra?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Sintra?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
