We start with the pick up at the hotels We start with the pick up in air-conditioned transport at your hotel, between 3:00-3:30 pm You must be patient because traffic is sometimes a problem. We will enjoy a panoramic tour of approximately 45 minutes through the beautiful city of Cartagena until we reach the Barú Peninsula. The Barú Peninsula (sometimes called Isla de Barú or simply Barú), is separated from the territory by the Canal del Dique. Until 2014 the only way to cross it was by raft, or its variants. It was in that year when the so-called Barú Bridge was inaugurated. (Barú is an artificial island that was formed almost 100 years ago by the construction of the Canal del Dique. Three towns on the island are Ararca, Santa Ana and Barú). Where we will find the Corles del Rosario and San Bernardo National Natural Park.

Is GOLPE (Scammer) NO GO
DON'T GO. It's GOLPE! (scammer) Horrible Service, they charge a lot more, they tape several tourists including me.. It's nothing in the photo, it looks like a favela. I paid $200 for half an hour on the beach. Collect taxes and more fees. They didn't catch me at the hotel in the Historic Center, put me in a street taxi, with no security. On the back, from bus that broke old. A boredom. BACK ON! (scammer). I contacted the Enterprise via WhatsApp, viewed and did not respond. Dirty place, all ripped and super charged. It's absurd. This Enterprise should be out of the site.

Don’t recommend
This felt like a car “assembly line”. The tour operator takes your money then delivers you to the site. But throughout the journey you get passed down from one person to another, each doing a different part of the tour, most of whom did not speak any English. Our experience was same as the last reviewer. The ride out took 1.5 hours (not 45 minutes) and was treacherous (we went to Playa Blanca by speed boat before for another tour and it was very enjoyable). When we got to Mambo Beach we were basically forced to order food/drink to consume the $30,000/person included in the tour. After that we were rushed to Afro Corales by a random waiter who told us to just sit around on our own for another 2 hours until the tour took off. It had stormed all day so there was no sunset to see. While I stepped away for 10 minutes, some woman started to give my teen daughter a massage even tho my daughter told her “no” and then the woman demanded money from us! She got very agressive and started yelling at my family, and since there was NOBODY from Nexxt Tours around who spoke English (they pretty much abandon you there), there was nobody to help us! It was a very upsetting and traumatic experience. They also don’t tell you that a regular phone camera cannot truly capture bioluminescence. Instead, if you want a decent picture you have to purchase an “optional” photo package from the Afro Corales group. Because it had rained and been cloudy all day, the plankton didn’t absorb any sunlight so we barely saw any bioluminescence. Not to mention we were only there for 15-20 minutes. Then the ride home was not by private vehicle. Instead, they put us in a bus with other tour groups, so you sit in the bus for a long time until all passengers show up. It was after 9pm before we were back in central Cartagena, so the tour length was more like 7 hours long, not what is advertised. Given all the trouble we experienced and not seeing the sunset or much bioluminescence, I cannot recommend this tour, nor would I ever use this company again. But shout out to Sebastian from Afro Corales who was very friendly!

Listing is inaccurate!
There was no “tour” of Cartagena; it was a ride from the hotel. If we did a pass by of Playa Blanca, I cannot say because driver did not point it out. The bilingual personal tour guide is not the driver who picks you up - mine only spoke Spanish. The listing indicates the activity is 5.5 hours including the “tour” (a/k/a ride from pick up point) of Cartagena but tour operator could not guarantee I would back at my hotel more than 7 hours after I was picked up.

The activity has a duration, but if there is traffic in the city, these are things that are out of our control since sometimes it gets congested for this reason. Awful experience. Avoid.
I will start this review by saying that they deliver everything as promised. They picked my wife and I up at the hotel. They took us to Playa Blanca. We stayed at a day club. We got served food. We were taken out on a boat to see the plankton. And, we were dropped back off at our hotel. That’s about all I can say positively about the whole experience. Beyond that, this excursion was awful. Everything they promised was delivered, but it was the worst possible quality at every step of the way. First off, they give the impression that it’s about a 45-minute ride from the Bocagrande/Walled City/Getsemani area. It actually took us about 2.5 hours to get out there and about 1.5 hours to get back. And the reason it took so long to get out there was that we weren’t picked up in a shuttle. We were actually picked up in a tiny car that wasn’t much bigger than a Smart Car. The roads to Playa Blanca are so torn up that it was a terrible ride down that anyone with motion sickness probably wouldn’t be able to survive. Once we got to Playa Blanca, the area we got dropped off at was very dirty and had a lot of trash strewn around, but it got worse once we got to the “beach club”. Mambo Beach is less of a beach club and more of a bunch of sticks pounded into the sand. It looked like a giant shack and the place did not have running water. We had to flush the toilets using a rain barrel. The meal I got had a fly in the salad in addition to being hounded by flies and stray dogs while we tried to eat our meal. Everything was dirty including the day beds and the towels we rented. When it was time to get on the boat. They crammed about 24 people into a boat that could safely hold 8-10. Also, there was no ladder to get safely on and off the boat. Instead, they just had people jumping off the side of the boat, and it felt like the boat could tip over at any time. On top of that, we were out there at night and the boat had no lights in the pitch dark. The bioluminescent tour is kind of dangerous and I’m surprised they don’t have more accidents. I don’t know where all these 5-star reviews are coming from, but this tour felt like a waste of the day. Just terrible quality all around. Save your money.

I wouldn’t do it again
Tour guide was good, but the logistics of the event are terrible. Too many people in the boat, very dangerous. The place was dirty, the washrooms horrible and no clean water anywhere. The food was good.
