10/10 - must do experience
I was very nervous as it was my first time doing a camel ride and I found how tall the camels were slightly intimidating. Our lovely guide Hamza made me feel safe as his knowledge of the camels was abundant and the animals were very well kept. I didn’t want to ride the camel on the way back because although I am very glad I did it once I didn’t want to get back up on the camel. Hamza was very kind and let my mum and myself lead the camels back and I really enjoyed this too.

An amazing experience!
If you want to ride a Camel, this is the best experience! The ride is not too long and the people in charge are super cool! The lady serving tea is the loveliest and very kind! Thanks guys!

The perfect (short) camel ride in Morocco
While in Morocco, my friend and I decided we wanted to try a camel ride. We definitely did not want to do the 4+ hour camel ride into the desert; that was too long for us. We just wanted a taste of riding a camel. This excursion was PERFECT for just that, and at the right price. The whole thing was about 2 hours (including pickup/drop off) and was only $38 per person. We rode the camels for about 30-40 minutes (more than enough time in my opinion, b/c my bum started to get sore towards the end). Note, you are not riding in a desert technically. You ride through the "Palm Groves" which is a giant sandy area with palm trees that is between hotels and Berber neighborhoods. So, if you are wanting a ride thru the Sahara desert, that is not this. Our guide (Zechariah? Zalaryia?) was AWESOME!! You'll see him in the green hat in the pictures. He was energetic, kind, helpful, and made sure we all a) stayed on the camels, and b) got amazing pictures. He took turns using all of our phones to take fantastic pictures of our group so we came away with great memories. He also made us a little souvenir camel out of grass (see pictures). We got mint tea and cookies in a little tent in the middle of the ride. I highly recommend this excursion if you are just wanting a 'sample' of camel riding.

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Sunset Camel Ride in the Palm Grove of Marrakech: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.
How much does Sunset Camel Ride in the Palm Grove of Marrakech cost?
+
Prices start at $29 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Marrakech usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Sunset Camel Ride in the Palm Grove of Marrakech take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Marrakech is not rushed.
Is Sunset Camel Ride in the Palm Grove of Marrakech worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 38 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Sunset Camel Ride in the Palm Grove of Marrakech?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Sunset Camel Ride in the Palm Grove of Marrakech suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 10. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Sunset Camel Ride in the Palm Grove of Marrakech?
+
Around 13 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Sunset Camel Ride in the Palm Grove of Marrakech start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Marrakech?
+
On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Marrakech: 1 Day Tour-Best of Atlas Mountains and Three Valleys, Agafay Desert Quad Bike Camel Ride and Dinner Show, Marrakech: Atlas Mountains, Ourika Valley, Waterfall + Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Marrakech?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Marrakech?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
