dissapointing
Very disappointing. The driver spent most of the time on his phone, driving fast and dangerously..I did not feel safe. We made 2 stops before the monestry . The first was meant to be 10 mins toilet stop but the guide did not return to the bus for about 30 minutes. We then stopped again and we told to go into a shop. We were not told why we stopped or for how long. We met a new guide at the monestry . He gave us very little information . Told us to visit the museum but did not say it was extra cost. He did not tell us all where to meet or at what time. When we came out of the monestry we had to wait for the driver to get fuel..this should have been done before. The guide Akma gave us no information about the area. When we arrived at the restaurant it was very rushed. I did not have time to finish my drink! Then we were told we had to visit a perfume shop. I would have liked more time at Dahab sea front We only had 15 minutes free time.

Amazing Burning Bush
I want to say thank you to Ahmed and his team. My family (4 adults) had an amazing trip to St. Catherine's. They worked around a scheduling issue so we could see this great place. Ahmed had a plan so we could stop and stretch our legs on the ride over. His knowledge was excellent and how he shared information kept us listening. The burning bush and that whole area is full of biblical history. I have told and retold the story of our families trip to St. Catherine's. Don't forget to get some water from the well of Moses when you visit.

Efficient, comfortable and enjoyable tour experience with Ahmed of Authentic Egypt & Pyramid immersion tour
I had an enjoyable and memorable tour to St Catherine Monastery. I was part of a group of 10. The tour included stops at the Monastery store and the city of Dahab for lunch in a traditional restaurant by the Red Sea. Lunch was basic, the restaurant location was lovely but I didn't like that there were cats in the restaurant. Some guests liked and fed and pet the cats. The pick up and drop off was on schedule from my resort in Sharm El Sheikh. The weather was cool and I was glad to have been advised to have a wrap or light jacket with me. It was a long drive to and fro through the mountainous desert region therfore, I was glad that the vehicle was comfortable and air-conditioned to avoid the dust. The tour guide and driver were knowledgeable, multilingual and friendly so that they doubled as my photographers during the trip. The guide provided valuable information about the Monastery, the story of St. Catherine, the mountains in the region, biblical and cultural accounts of Moses's sojourn and other landmarks of the Sinai desert region. It made the history come alive. Note that this tour does not get you to climb Mt Sinai. Ahmed the owner of the tour company checked in often via text messages to make sure I was enjoying the trip and after I was dropped off, which I appreciated. It made me book other tours with his company when I continued my vacation in Cairo. I also found out that Ahmed is able to customize tours to fit ones interest, budget and time. I recommend this company for this and other tours in Egypt.

St. Catherine Monastery, Sinai & Lunch in Dahab PRIVATE TOUR: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sharm el Sheikh.
How much does St. Catherine Monastery, Sinai & Lunch in Dahab PRIVATE TOUR cost?

How long does St. Catherine Monastery, Sinai & Lunch in Dahab PRIVATE TOUR take?
+

Is St. Catherine Monastery, Sinai & Lunch in Dahab PRIVATE TOUR worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sharm el Sheikh, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule St. Catherine Monastery, Sinai & Lunch in Dahab PRIVATE TOUR?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is St. Catherine Monastery, Sinai & Lunch in Dahab PRIVATE TOUR suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 6. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 12-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book St. Catherine Monastery, Sinai & Lunch in Dahab PRIVATE TOUR?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sharm el Sheikh can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sharm el Sheikh and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does St. Catherine Monastery, Sinai & Lunch in Dahab PRIVATE TOUR start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sharm el Sheikh within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Sharm el Sheikh?
+
On Outty we rank every Sharm el Sheikh experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sharm El Sheikh: Ras Mohammed Snorkeling, Allah Gate & Top Sights, ATV Quad Bike & Camel Ride, Echo Mountain – Sharm El Sheikh, Sharm : Cairo Excursion by Flight, Pyramid GEM or Ancient Museum. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Sharm el Sheikh?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Sharm el Sheikh?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
