Amazing!

A wonderful time experiencing local food culture and interacting with the locals.
The 30-minute transfer from downtown Kandy felt like a fun guided tour with someone knowledgeable about the local history and geography. By the time we arrived at the location, we had all become quite comfortable with each other. The facility, located in a simple rural village, is a converted private house used for experiential activities. Upon arrival, I was greeted with smiles by the lovely wife, dressed in traditional clothing, and her adorable daughters. The well-prepared cooking experience, conducted in a clean environment, proceeded smoothly and efficiently, with detailed explanations of the ingredients and cooking procedures, and was over in no time, accompanied by occasional laughter and enjoyment. How did it taste? It was the best meal I ate during my stay in Sri Lanka. 素晴らしい体験をありがとうございました またいつか戻って来ます

Amazing first class authentic cooking experience
My husband and I did this authentic cooking course today at their beautiful home. It was the most amazing experience in a beautiful setting and they asked our dietary requirements and created a meal plan to suit. We walked through all the traditional dishes step by step and learnt how accessible the ingredients are at home to recreates the meal. The hosts were so kind, warm and friendly and they left us to eat what we cooked which turned out to be a huge delicious banquet ! I would highly recommend *****

Brilliant - 10/10
This was a brilliant cooking class - family owned and the best food at the end that we have had so far. Firstly, a lot of the other cooking classes in Sri Lanka take you to a market beforehand, we just wanted to learn how to cook and therefore this class was ideal as we had more time to actually cook and they selected ingredients that you can find more readily available beforehand for us. The space to cook in was a brilliant outdoor kitchen on their property and it had a really nice family feel. The hosts are a couple and their children came and helped out too, teaching us food that their family eats and explaining the recipes behind it. The hosts had great English and everything was explained clearly and simply. The food at the end was amazing and we ate everything we cooked. The host then sent us the recipes and pictures etc so we could attempt ourselves again at home. 10/10 would recommend.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much. Your words mean a lot to us.

Sri Lankan cooking class with Nilu Kandy( FREE PICKUP & Drop): questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kandy.
How much does Sri Lankan cooking class with Nilu Kandy( FREE PICKUP & Drop) cost?
+
Prices start at $23 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kandy usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Sri Lankan cooking class with Nilu Kandy( FREE PICKUP & Drop) take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kandy is not rushed.
Is Sri Lankan cooking class with Nilu Kandy( FREE PICKUP & Drop) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 82 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 54 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kandy, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Sri Lankan cooking class with Nilu Kandy( FREE PICKUP & Drop)?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Sri Lankan cooking class with Nilu Kandy( FREE PICKUP & Drop) suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Sri Lankan cooking class with Nilu Kandy( FREE PICKUP & Drop)?
+
Around 19 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kandy can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kandy and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Sri Lankan cooking class with Nilu Kandy( FREE PICKUP & Drop) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kandy within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kandy?
+
On Outty we rank every Kandy experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Explore Kandy City Tour by Tuk Tuk, Tours and Transportation in Sri Lanka, Chauffeur guide and Tour organizer. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kandy?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kandy?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
