Mate Goleta - driver and tour guide extraordinaire!

Mate Goleta was an extremely knowledgeable tour guide through the Split countryside southeast to Mostar, Bosnia, then back to Croatia, with a stop in Ston, for local oysters, then door to door service to our hotel in Dubrovnik. Mate was right on time for the pickup , so helpful with the luggage and then we were on our way. He told us so many interesting facts about Croatian history, putting it all in context to help us understand ancient history and more recent history. In Mostar, he guided us to a charming Turkish coffee place in site of the beautiful old bridge, through the souk area and to a wonderful lunch place with traditional meals. Mate definitely took care of everything so that our experience was seamless. Then it was back to the breathtaking drive down the coast to Ston, where we enjoyed some local history about this pretty and historic town with the impressive stone walls. Then to Dubrovnik! Thank you Mate , for delivering us safely. It was a long day for you! We learned so much and appreciated all you did!

Response from the operator: We’re delighted to hear that team provided you with outstanding service. Mate consistently goes above and beyond to ensure our customers have a positive experience, and your feedback is a great affirmation of their hard work. Best from Mate and Jakov

    Lovely location, lovely company!

Me and my girlfriend has a great trip, organised by Jakov and accompanied by Oliver. We were staying a little outside of Split (in Trogir) but that was no trouble to get picked up from there. Oliver was warm and friendly, and had fantastic insights for the journey - there wasn't a boring moment! We got to Mostar, which is a fascinating city, stopping at a great little bakery along the way. We felt completely safe and comfortable the whole way. On the way to Dubrovnik, some of the scenery and views were unbelievable. We stopped at a little wine shop overlooking the Adriatic sea, which was just bliss. Then finally, we stopped to taste some fresh Oysters straight out of the water. I couldn't recommend this trip enough and the whole experience, including Olivers' company was brilliant. Thank you guys!

Response from the operator: Hi ladies, thank you for your review and choosing The Guide. It was really a pleasure to do this tour for you and we are glade you enjoin the tour, our gold and pleasure is to provide and organize tours with awesome guides we have in our team like Oliver, hope to see you soon in Croatia as soon as the world starts to travel again Best Jakov

    BEST TOUR EVER

I highly recommend The Guide. Marko is the perfect guide - knowledgeable, always cheerful, prompt, conscientiously followed our itinerary. We saw Croatia through Marko’s eyes. His love for his country is very evident. So, aside from seeing all the touristic spots, my husband and I appreciated the history of Croatia and its people.

Response from the operator: Dear Evelyn, thank you for everything and especially for trusting our little Travel agency and your familiy and sharing with us your moments and experience thank U for your kind words and review.Thank you and see u soon back in Croatia with kids Best Jakov and Marko

Split to Dubrovnik via Mostar plus Ston with local lunch: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Split.

How much does Split to Dubrovnik via Mostar plus Ston with local lunch cost?

    +

Prices start at $300 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Split usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Split to Dubrovnik via Mostar plus Ston with local lunch take?

    +

Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Split is not rushed.

Is Split to Dubrovnik via Mostar plus Ston with local lunch worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Split, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Split to Dubrovnik via Mostar plus Ston with local lunch?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Split to Dubrovnik via Mostar plus Ston with local lunch suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Split to Dubrovnik via Mostar plus Ston with local lunch?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Split can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Split and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Split to Dubrovnik via Mostar plus Ston with local lunch start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Split within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Split?

    +

On Outty we rank every Split experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Split Small-Group Walking Tour with a Magister of History, Split Walking Tour with Professor of History, From Split: Krka Waterfalls, Food & Wine Tasting Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Split?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Split?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
