    Wonderful Experience on Lake Tahoe!

Wonderful experience! Our guide was fantastic. Lake Tahoe was beautiful. The ride out was smooth, they provided drinks and snacks for everyone. Would definitely do this again and would be great for all ages! Seeing the water and the lake from that view point was definitely worth the time and money.

Repeat customers and fully satisfied - Jason was great

We had such a great time on a previous tour that we decided to book again and we were very happy we did. Our guide, JASON, was absolutely phenomenal. Better even than the last time. He made sure to keep every single guest engaged, from adults to children. He told us very interesting information about the lake and the animals that live in it and around it. He was a wealth of information. He made sure to keep us safe whenever a boat might be coming through the channel if we were in that area. And, something we didn't even get last time, he took several amazing pictures of us and the other parties in the group and then some really cool group pictures. He even went as far to create a QR code that we could scan so we could get the pictures. He just seemed like such a chill interesting cool guy that he made the tour very worthwhile. I would definitely book again. Oh I forgot to mention, they did cancel the tour that we were originally scheduled on but they offered us to join the tour that we ended up on, which was at an earlier time than our original. And when we showed up kind of frantically a little later than we had wanted because I didn't see the cancellation email right away, Jason was so relaxed and chill and made it no problem that we joined in on that tour. He didn't want us to stress at all. He wanted everybody to have a good time.

    Highly recommend this trip!

My husband and I shared a two person kayak which we were glad about because we could visit during the trip. The Explorer tour out of South Lake Tahoe was awesome. They took us to emerald cove which is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. The water is so clear and blue it’s hard to believe. Being on a clear kayak was a unique experience. The guide Ryan was very knowledgeable and helpful in making suggestions for local places and hikes. I’d recommend this to anyone visiting Tahoe

South Lake Tahoe Clear Kayak Adventure: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lake Tahoe.

How much does South Lake Tahoe Clear Kayak Adventure cost?

    +

Prices start at $281 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lake Tahoe usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does South Lake Tahoe Clear Kayak Adventure take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lake Tahoe is not rushed.

Is South Lake Tahoe Clear Kayak Adventure worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Lake Tahoe, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule South Lake Tahoe Clear Kayak Adventure?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is South Lake Tahoe Clear Kayak Adventure suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book South Lake Tahoe Clear Kayak Adventure?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lake Tahoe can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lake Tahoe and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does South Lake Tahoe Clear Kayak Adventure start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lake Tahoe within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Lake Tahoe?

    +

Tahoe splits by season: summer brings boat cruises, kayaking at Emerald Bay, parasailing and Flume Trail rides, while winter brings snowmobiles, snowshoe treks and ski shuttles. Pickup points around the lake are far apart, so meeting logistics matter. On Outty we rank every Lake Tahoe experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 2 Hour Sailing Cruise on Lake Tahoe, Tahoe Coastal Self-Guided E-Bike Tour(2–4 hrs) | East Shore Trail, Yosemite Grand Adventure - day tour from S. Lake Tahoe. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lake Tahoe?

    +

June to September for water, December to March for snow. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Lake Tahoe?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
