VIATOR X Reykjavik Excursions FAILED to take me on this trip

I booked the evening before and viator confirmed my booking on Sunday. However come Monday, i was waiting half an hour before pickup and no one messaged me from the tour group with pickup updates. No one picked me up for the tour. Viator didnt communicate with the vendor and neither of them reached out to me. I spent hours on the phone between both parties. And I lost my last day in Iceland!! No one has refunded me yet either!!!

Response from the operator: Dear Traveler, We’re very sorry to hear about this frustrating experience. We sincerely apologize for the missed pickup, lack of communication, and the impact this had on your final day in Iceland. We understand your disappointment and appreciate you sharing your experience. Best Regards, Gabriele

    Alain best tour guide ever

The tour was great but what really made the tour was the small group and the outstanding tour guide Alain.

Response from the operator: Dear Traveler, Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re delighted you enjoyed the small group and that the guide made the tour especially memorable. We truly appreciate your kind words! Best Regards, Gabriele

    Very disappointed

Unfortunately, we missed our tour because the station guide gave us the wrong information. She pointed us to a bus headed for the airport instead of our tour. We were so looking forward to seeing the diamond beach. We were prepared for the long day and it was incredibly disappointing to miss this opportunity because the attendant wasn’t paying attention.

Response from the operator: Dear Jennifer, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are very sorry to hear that you missed your tour and understand how disappointing this must have been, especially as you were looking forward to visiting the Diamond Beach and had prepared for the long journey. We are also concerned to hear that you were directed to an airport bus instead of your tour departure. We would like to look into what happened and clarify the circumstances with the relevant team. We kindly ask you to contact our Customer Service team directly with your booking reference, travel date, and the name used for the reservation, so we can investigate the situation further. We sincerely apologize for the disappointment and inconvenience this experience caused. Best regards, Rute

    Glacier Lagoon was amazing

This is a loooong bus ride, with 10 of the 14 hours in a small coach bus. The Diamond Beach and Glacier lagoon were awesome and made the ride worthwhile. There’s an optional boat tour of the lagoon that was not offered thru Viator, but the driver was able to get tickets in advance while in the bus, I would definitely recommend.

Response from the operator: Dear Jami, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the Diamond Beach and Glacier Lagoon and felt that these incredible sights made the journey worthwhile. We also appreciate your comments regarding the length of the bus journey and the optional boat tour. It is great to hear that our driver was able to assist you with arranging tickets and that you would recommend the experience to other travellers. Thank you again for travelling with us and for sharing your helpful feedback. We hope to welcome you back to Iceland in the future! Best regards, Rute

Great day with your guide Lasma

The Glacier Lagoon is stunning. On the way there and back we visited a couple of stunning waterfalls. Our guide Lasma was so knowledgeable. It is a long day but you see so much of Icelands stunning countryside.

South Coast, Diamond Beach and Glacier Lagoon Day Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reykjavik.

How much does South Coast, Diamond Beach and Glacier Lagoon Day Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $81 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reykjavik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does South Coast, Diamond Beach and Glacier Lagoon Day Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 14 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reykjavik is not rushed.

Is South Coast, Diamond Beach and Glacier Lagoon Day Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 643 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Reykjavik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule South Coast, Diamond Beach and Glacier Lagoon Day Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is South Coast, Diamond Beach and Glacier Lagoon Day Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 14-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book South Coast, Diamond Beach and Glacier Lagoon Day Tour?

    +

Around 225 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reykjavik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reykjavik and add a light layer if any part of the 14-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does South Coast, Diamond Beach and Glacier Lagoon Day Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reykjavik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Reykjavik?

    +

On Outty we rank every Reykjavik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Reykjavik Food Walk - Local Foodie Adventure in Iceland, Small-Group Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon with Ticket & Kerid Crater, Reykjavík Small group Walking Tour - by CityWalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Reykjavik?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Reykjavik?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
