    Fab boat trip!

Great boat trip, the boat itself was really nice and plenty of room for the 12 of us. The skipper was amazing, great skills at handling the boat and felt in very safe hands. The tour lead was also great, had good knowledge and took care of us, we went with two kids 12 and 9 and they had a great time!! Wholeheartedly recommend, we had a brilliant time to Capri!

    We had a wonderful...

We had a wonderful experience on this boat tour! Everything was very well organized, the Bruno was friendly and professional, and the views were absolutely beautiful. The boat ride was relaxing and enjoyable, and we really appreciated how smoothly everything was handled throughout the day. It was a great way to experience Capri and the coastline, and definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. Highly recommend!

Good boat ride, be aware of additional fees

The boat ride was fun- our driver, Giuseppe, was very sweet and welcoming. The tour company itself needs some work. We booked the 8:30 tour and arrived early but the boat didn’t depart until after 9:40, which was frustrating because they said it was because they were waiting for guests. It seems they book several tours around the same times (8, 8:30, 9, 9:30) and then just group the people together as they see fit and depart when they decide to. It says this on the booking details, but worth calling out again that when you arrive, they charge another 40 euros per person for a fuel surcharge plus 10 euros per person for docking fees. We ended up going to another dock on capri, so that cost an additional 10 euros when we returned. Just be aware, since this trip seems lower cost but is actually the same or higher than other options that include all fees up front on the booking. Other than that, it was a fun ride and we saw lots of cool stuff!

    Grazie, Marcello!

Marcello was a fantastic tour guide. A few of us had some sea sickness, but the waves made the trip especially fun for our kids (and thankfully we brought gravol for the ride back to Sorrento.) Highly recommend!

    Refund not received!

Viator company owe me a refund and now will not reply to any of my emails. I have an email from them advising they would not charge the amount as I was unable to attend, however the full payment went through on my bank statement and after multiple emails I have not heard any response.

Sorrento or Positano: Capri & Blue Grotto Small-Group Boat Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Positano.

How much does Sorrento or Positano: Capri & Blue Grotto Small-Group Boat Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $85 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Positano usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Sorrento or Positano: Capri & Blue Grotto Small-Group Boat Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Positano is not rushed.

Is Sorrento or Positano: Capri & Blue Grotto Small-Group Boat Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 463 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Positano, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Sorrento or Positano: Capri & Blue Grotto Small-Group Boat Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Sorrento or Positano: Capri & Blue Grotto Small-Group Boat Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Sorrento or Positano: Capri & Blue Grotto Small-Group Boat Tour?

    +

Around 162 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Positano can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Positano and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Sorrento or Positano: Capri & Blue Grotto Small-Group Boat Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Positano within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Positano?

    +

On Outty we rank every Positano experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cooking class with Pasta, mozzarella and Tiramisu with wine, Capri and Blue Grotto Semi Private Boat Day Trip from Sorrento, From Sorrento: Positano & Amalfi Coast Boat Tour with Pick Up. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Positano?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Positano?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
