    About this experience

On this tour with a private guide, you will get to know the painter's workshop and the last house Joaquín Sorolla, along with his temporary exhibitions. The Sorolla Museum also has the most important works of the artist, classified in different categories. It is one of the most beautiful and homey museums in Madrid, as well as one of the best preserved houses in Europe. The building was converted into a museum after the death of his widow. Designed by Enrique María Repullés, it was declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 1962. The main rooms are still furnished as they were during the artist's lifetime, including Sorolla's large, well-lit studio, where the walls are lined with his canvases. Other rooms are used as galleries to display Sorolla's paintings, while the upstairs rooms are a gallery for special exhibitions. Do not miss this unique corner of Madrid!

    MR SOROLLA

Unfortunately the Madrid house museum is closed for restoration but if you want to see the works of this painter you can come to Valencia where his beautiful paintings are exhibited in an exhibition set up by the "Banking Foundation" that I visited today. They are expected to return to Madrid in late April 2026.

Response from the operator: Dear Traveler, Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your note regarding the temporary closure of the Madrid house museum and the alternative exhibition in Valencia for those interested in viewing the artist’s works. Best Regards from the Quality Department of Amigo Tours –Claudia

The tour guide cancelled via email the night before the tour. I saw the cancellation at midnight and was able to buy tickets direct from the venue. The audio guide available there was excellent. You don't need a guide for this museum.

Response from the operator: Dear Ellen, We are sorry we had to cancel, unfortunatelly our guide got sick and we couldn't find any replacement. But we assure your that our guided tour is well worth it, the expertise our guides share with our clients is unmatched. Hopefully you'll give us another chance in the future so you get to experience it firsthand. Best regards from the team at Amigo Tours, Lorena.

Sorolla Museum Private Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Madrid.

How much does Sorolla Museum Private Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $15 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Madrid usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Sorolla Museum Private Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Madrid is not rushed.

Is Sorolla Museum Private Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.8/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Madrid, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Sorolla Museum Private Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Sorolla Museum Private Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Sorolla Museum Private Tour?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Madrid can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Madrid and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Sorolla Museum Private Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Madrid within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Madrid?

    +

On Outty we rank every Madrid experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Madrid Essential: Historic Center, Plaza Mayor & Royal Palace, Madrid Walking Tour from Puerta del Sol to Retiro Park, Madrid Oscuro: Torture, Ghosts, Crimes and Legends. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Madrid?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Madrid?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
