Amazing full-day personalized wine tour

Catherine was awesome — made brilliant selections of 3 chateaus for us to visit—all quite different in 3 different appellations. Totally first class experience with great lunch and wonderful personalized tours of each chateau. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a private, bespoke experience.

Fab visits to Chateaux in the Medoc.

Our first visit was to Chateau du Tertre. We had a tour of the outside and then inside the Chateau. Then a tour of the cellars. They were preparing for the harvest. At the end of the visit we tasted several different wines. It was an exceptional visit. For lunch we stopped at Chateau Leoville Poyferre. We had lunch on the terrace which was platters of charcuterie and fromages and dips. Delicious. We were able to purchase wine by the glass or bottle which was exceptional. Our last visit and tasting was to Chateau Micalet, a small artisan wine. Delicious wine and interesting visit. Our guide Catherine was very helpful, knowledgeable and informative .

Response from the operator: Thank you Jacqui! We spent a nice day all together and the lunch at Léoville Poyferré was very good. I am sure that you maybe have beautiful bottles at home as you are a wine expert! I will text you if I come in England to see you and your friendly girl friend. XXX Catherine

Very Pleasant Day in the Medoc

The tour of the Medoc (30 August 2024) was our second day of touring the wine country in Bordeaux. Catherine did a very good job with the tour, and my wife and I really enjoyed the experience. Thank you to Catherine and Hugo (we did tour of Saint-Emilion the previous day with Hugo) from Bacchus for helping us have a really great experience, during our first trip to Bordeaux! We would definitely use them again, on a future trip to the region. Thanks again.

Response from the operator: Thank you again Barb and Bob. It will be a pleasure to welcome you again in Bordeaux! We know now that Bob a Bordeaux wine expert. We wish him good luck for Wset level 3! See you in 2025!

Great Tour Company and hospitality

Catherine is a very knowledgeable host and we had the pleasure of visiting 8 wineries over 2 days. She worked with us for a bespoke tour that was perfectly executed. We had a very good time everywhere we went. We enjoyed the Left Bank, Right Bank, a UNESCO World Heritage tour & all with splendid meals. She has many contacts in the area and we had an absolutely lovely visit everywhere we went. We were treated to such wonderful hospitality. We will be booking Catherine again! Merci

Response from the operator: Thank you Patricia. It is very kind of you. I spent 2 marvellous days with you all, Rocco, Robert, Mary and you. Hope to come in Ontario to say hello! Catherine

Small Group Tours and Tastings in the Médoc: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bordeaux.

How much does Small Group Tours and Tastings in the Médoc cost?

+

Prices start at $205 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bordeaux usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Small Group Tours and Tastings in the Médoc take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bordeaux is not rushed.

Is Small Group Tours and Tastings in the Médoc worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Bordeaux, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Small Group Tours and Tastings in the Médoc?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Small Group Tours and Tastings in the Médoc suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 8-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Small Group Tours and Tastings in the Médoc?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bordeaux can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bordeaux and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Small Group Tours and Tastings in the Médoc start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bordeaux within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Bordeaux?

+

On Outty we rank every Bordeaux experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Saint-Emilion Electric Bike Day Tour with Wine Tastings & Lunch, Saint-Émilion Afternoon Tour - 2 Grand crus & French apéritif, "Bordeaux by bicycle: a 3-hour tour immersive experience". The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Bordeaux?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bordeaux?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
