Fantastic trip out to see the beautiful Atlas mountains and Ourika waterfall.
Fantastic trip to the Ourika waterfalls. The local guide was amazing, leaping about the rocks like a gazelle. He made sure we stepped on the right stones to cross brooks and climb up the mountain. He took lots of excellent photos and looked after all of us. The waterfalls and view from the top are well worth the climb. Suitable for people with moderate fitness, but do wear decent trainers - not flipflops! The air is fresh and clean at the top. We climbed up to see th efifth and sixth waterfalls. Afterwards we sat by the river and had a traditional Moroccan lunch which was delicious. The only thing that spoiled the trip were all the stalls by the side of the path. They were not there 30 years ago when we last did the climb with our teenage children.

Atlas Mountains Small Group Tour
We thoroughly recommend this very enjoyable trip Ismail collected us from our hotel for the one and half hours drive to the Atlas Mountains, pointing out interesting landmarks along the way. We stopped at an Argon oil shop near the drop off point at the foot of the mountains. We then met up with our guide who escorted us up to the waterfalls, which was challenging but certainly doable. There is of course the obligatory tour through the cooperative shops of rugs and alabaster Stone figurines etc and all very interesting. Then after the walk we went to one of the pretty river restaurants for traditional tagines and salads. The highlight was Ismail and his extensive knowledge of Marrakech. This tour is a must.

Our experience at the Atlas Mountains (half day)
We had a great time to the Atlas Mountains with our driver Akhil and our tour guide Abdul Latif. We were first driven by our kind driver Akhil to the mountain range (less than an hour away from central Marrakech) and stopped off at an Argan oil making institute run by local women. We then climbed the Atlas Mountains with Abdul to the top where we had the chance to get some beautiful views of the waterfalls and mountains. It was useful to have the half day option as we got a good experience exploring the mountains by foot (it was not too tiring at all, but would recommend a tour guide and comfortable footwear). The half day gave use good amount of time in the evening to do other activities. Overall it was well organised and an enjoyable trip to the Atlas Mountains and would strongly recommend going on a trip with this tour group.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.
How much does Small-Group Tour from Marrakech to the Atlas mountains cost?

How long does Small-Group Tour from Marrakech to the Atlas mountains take?

+

That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

+
The operator sets a minimum age of 4. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 5.5-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Small-Group Tour from Marrakech to the Atlas mountains?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 5.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Small-Group Tour from Marrakech to the Atlas mountains start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Marrakech?
+
On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Marrakech: 1 Day Tour-Best of Atlas Mountains and Three Valleys, Agafay Desert Quad Bike Camel Ride and Dinner Show, Marrakech: Ourika Waterfall, Atlas Mountain, Guide & River Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Marrakech?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Marrakech?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
