Above and beyond excellent private family tour

Esther was an AMAZING host for our family. We are first time visitors and usually do a full day tour to make sure we get a solid overview of the city but we got much more. We are so happy we spent time in the watertown it was so charming and lovely. We wish we could have stayed longer but then we also had the city tour! She made the temple tour fun and exciting for our young son and we enjoyed watching the city lights come alive from Shanghai Tower. We even extended to add on a night river cruise and had a tea service before our very full day concluded. She even sent us all the fun pictures she took of us and was available to help with any follow up questions and shopping tips the next day. We would absolutely enjoy another visit and tour with Esther!

Awesome tour with a great guide!

Our guide Win was very experienced, professional, and fluent in English. His junior guide trainee Even he brought along, was very kind and helpful to my 82 year old mother-in-law interpreting her questions and assisting her with staircases as we walked around. Win was very knowledgeable about all of the sights and places to go in Shanghai and Zhujiajiao. He explained the historical, cultural, and other relevant aspects of the buildings, bridges, temples, rivers, and people we encountered. He shared great anecdotes and was very friendly. He was key in making our tour unforgettable. The driver was prompt and kept us cool in the summer heat. This tour was like visiting the Venice of China and New York City of China all in one day. We started with a lovely Sampan ride manually paddled by a professional boat handler. Walked the small interconnecting bridges and paths that crisscrossed and adjoined the small waterways and took the best angled pictures thanks to Win’s guidance. The shop keepers were friendly and presented new things to checkout from exotic teas to handcrafts. The view from the Tower in Shanghai was spectacular with buildings in every direction. The garden tour was gorgeous with ponds, cute pagodas, and natural landscapes all around. Win explained what each structure was for and how the family lived and worked using them. If you only have one day in Shanghai to take a tour this is the one to take. You will see and experience a lot. Well worth the price.

Response from the operator: dear Christopher, Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback on our Shanghai Private Tour with Zhujiajiao Water Town and Shanghai Tower. We are thrilled to hear that you had such a memorable experience with us! It is fantastic to know that Win, along with our junior guide trainee Even, provided exceptional service and made the tour enjoyable for your entire group, especially your mother-in-law. We are proud of our guides' dedication to delivering insightful and engaging tours, and it is rewarding to hear that Win’s knowledge and anecdotes added so much value to your visit. Thank you as well for your kind words about the driver and the overall organization of the tour! We strive to ensure comfort and convenience for our guests, and it is gratifying to know that we succeeded in making your day special. Thank you once again for choosing our tour and for recommending it so highly. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Shanghai or any other destination in the future! Warm regards, MFA Team

How far in advance should I book Small group: Shanghai Private tour with Zhujiajiao Water Town and Shanghai Tower?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. What are the best things to do in Shanghai?

+

On Outty we rank every Shanghai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Shanghai Full Day City Tour with Old and New Highlights, Suzhou Private Day Trip from Shanghai with Bullet Train Option, 4-Hour Flexible Private Shanghai City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Shanghai?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Shanghai?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
