    1. On this tour you will discover a diverse ecosystem in an undeveloped environment without unpleasant crowds. This tour is specially designed making it semi-private, a maximum of 10 people to one guide. Sea kayaking is a great way to explore Krabi's beautiful scenery without damaging the environment. You can move slowly and almost unnoticed through different ecosystems while observing wildlife, and manoeuvre through mangrove forests, canyons, caves and lagoons. Start the trip with a safety briefing at Thalane Pier and head out by longtail boat to Koh Hong which is home to a group of islands with an array of towering limestone cliffs and white sandy beaches. Here you can explore the beautiful emerald lagoon and snorkel amongst the abundant beds of coral, bright-colored crabs, and tropical fish. You will also have time to do some guided paddling around the island. Enjoy lunch at the park ranger station on the main island. Then you will cruise to the surrounding islands named Koh Pakbia and Lading Island, before heading back to the mainland at Ao Thalane. Paddle on a sit-on-top kayak through remarkable coastal canyons and narrow channels at the end of a stretch of protected mangrove forest. Observe slowly and silently the wildlife up close. You can spot several species of birds and monkeys, in particular the crab-eating macaque monkey. This area features one of the most beautiful bays and mangrove forests surrounded by towering karst formations and small offshore islands. Otto is a great guide and wonderful man......helped take the sting out of limited kayaking on a kayaking trip!

While we thoroughly enjoyed the almost 2 hours kayaking through mangroves/canyons of Ao Thalane Bay with the wonderful Otto as our guide, we were truly disappointed in not getting to do the sea kayaking portion of the trip at Hong Island. While we ending up having essentially a private kayaking tour as nobody other than our group of 4 signed up, if you say the tour offers sea kayaking at Hong Island then it should be offered. We were told at the morning briefing that sea kayaking was not included. Felt a bit ripped off. While I understand the disclaimer of trip itinerary could be changed due to weather, there were no weather issues that would have prevented our kayaking at Hong Island. We signed up for this trip to spend the bulk of the day kayaking and that's not what was delivered to us. Instead of lunch at Ranger Station on Hong Island, we ate at some mediocre restaurant in Ao Thalane Bay area. Not a big deal for this to change, but seems like the trip as now structured is not as described in the sales info.

Response from the operator: Dear joelmD4484NC Thanks for your review and sorry that on that day the hong island part was not possible. I will check with staff which should have informed us beforehand so we could share this with you.

One of the best days of our Holiday!

This tour was easily one of the highlights of our 2 week trip in Thailand. We were picked up in Ao Nang at the meeting place & taken to Ao Thalane bay where we received a safety briefing before getting into the Kayaks. There are no words for how stunning the scenery is. We felt incredibly lucky. Although we had no prior experience of sea kayaking, we felt in safe hands with our guide who was both informative and helpful. We continued the day by going to Hong Island, which was also beautiful & well worth going to. Highly recommend for a fantastic day in Krabi.

Friendly and helpful guide, great scenery

The tour guide for the sea kayak is very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Ao Thalane is really a beautiful place to visit via kayak. I saw crabs, monitor lizards, mudskippers and kingfishers. Hong Island is equally wonderful, and I had great fun wading around in the lagoon since I cannot swim. Travelling in a small group is an experience worth paying a bit more for.

How much does Small-Group Sea Kayaking in Ao Thalane Bay and Hong Island from Krabi cost?

    +

Prices start at $87 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Krabi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Small-Group Sea Kayaking in Ao Thalane Bay and Hong Island from Krabi take?

    +

Is Small-Group Sea Kayaking in Ao Thalane Bay and Hong Island from Krabi worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Krabi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Small-Group Sea Kayaking in Ao Thalane Bay and Hong Island from Krabi?

    +

Is Small-Group Sea Kayaking in Ao Thalane Bay and Hong Island from Krabi suitable for kids and families?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Krabi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Krabi and add a light layer if any part of the 7.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Krabi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Krabi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full-Day Phi Phi Islands Tour with Lunch from Krabi, Phi Phi Early Bird & 4 Islands - Day Tour by Speedboat From Krabi, Railay and 4-Island Sunset Speedboat Cruise with Night Snorkel. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Krabi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Krabi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
