Fun Snorkeling Experience
Happy Fish I was the boat we were on with Frankie. Crew was super nice and helpful and kept the energy high and entertaining. There were 4 families and plenty of area to roam on the boat. Snorkeling was awesome. I just wish we went to more than one spot to snorkel. We went to one snorkel spot and one spot to just lounge in the water around a bunch of other boats. It turned from a snorkel excursion into a party boat excursion. They have a slide and a diving platform that people enjoyed. Saw sea turtles and sting rays while heading out. Tons of school fish and coral at the snorkel spot. You can feed them too and they just surround you.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed your day aboard Happy Fish with Frankie and the crew. It’s great to know the team’s energy, the spacious boat, and the snorkeling experience made your trip memorable. Seeing sea turtles, stingrays, colorful coral, and schools of tropical fish is always a highlight! We also appreciate your feedback regarding the snorkeling itinerary. Our tour is designed to combine snorkeling with time to relax and enjoy the crystal-clear Caribbean waters, creating a balanced experience for a wide range of travelers. That said, we understand that some guests especially snorkeling enthusiasts would enjoy spending more time exploring additional reef sites. Comments like yours are invaluable as we continue working with our local partners to refine and enhance the experience. Thank you again for choosing Xcape Tours, and we hope to welcome you on another adventure in the Dominican Republic soon!

Not here for a long time, but come here for a good time!
From the moment I booked this in the states to getting off the boat, everything was seamless. We had a fabulous time! Highly recommend.

OK if you want a party atmosphere.
Friendly staff, but despite being billed as a small group experience, they tried to create a party boat experience, which suited some of the group but not everyone. Briefing for snorkeling was haphazard which resulted in one of our group going too close to the reef, then being told off/mocked for it. Not nice
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback and for recognizing the friendliness of our team. We're sorry to hear that parts of the experience did not meet your expectations. While our tour is marketed as a small-group experience due to the limited number of guests onboard, the atmosphere can vary depending on the group and the day. Some guests enjoy socializing, listening to music, and participating in onboard activities, while others prefer a quieter and more relaxed experience. Our intention is always to create a fun yet respectful environment that can be enjoyed by a variety of travelers. We are particularly concerned by your comments regarding the snorkeling briefing and the interaction with our crew. Protecting the reef is extremely important to us, and our team provides safety and environmental guidelines before guests enter the water. However, these instructions should always be delivered in a professional and respectful manner. If a member of your party felt embarrassed or mocked, we sincerely apologize, as this is not the standard of service we strive to provide. Your feedback has been shared with our operations team so we can review both the snorkeling briefing process and how corrective guidance is communicated during the excursion. We appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention and thank you for choosing to spend part of your vacation with us.

Half day of fun with teens
Very fun half day adventure for me (mom) and 3 teens (13, 17, 18). Quick shuttle ride with friendly driver who picked us up on time from hotel. Beach area where we launched from had a few shops with art and drink etc. but didn’t know about that - might have brought some money because some of it looked nice. Lady in bathroom wanted $ for toilet paper so bringing a little for that in case you need to go. Aboard, boat crew were really fun- not over the top like some “entertainment” crews - just friendly, energetic and fun. Crew all friends from Puerto Plata. Other guests on boat were a good mix of ages from grandmas down to little kids - all from Canada and USA. Maybe 25 of us in total but it didn’t feel cramped. On way we spotted a sea turtle and lots of eagle rays. We went to a reef and there were TONS of fish. Several boats parked out there (maybe 5-7) and they were all feeding them so there were so many fish! It wasn’t too crowded in the water though and it was neat to see how they have put ropes underwater to build an artificial reef. We did some sliding and jumped off high diving board. They served delicious drinks, fruit and homemade guacamole, chips and salsa. On way to second spot, we drove past a very sad set of water “prisons” with dolphins - not a fan of that. Then we went back towards shore and stopped in a shallow area (waist deep), where they played music, people waded around, paddle boarded, drank and played in the water or sun tanned on the boat. All the boats there again- everyone playing different music which was a bit odd - but still fun! It was a really excellently run outing. Highly recommend for all ages and snorkelling abilities. My only regret is not being able to do a full day with this crew, this boat on that water. So beautiful and enjoyable. Bravo!

Why this scores 64
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Small Group Punta Cana Snorkeling with Premium Open Bar: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.
How much does Small Group Punta Cana Snorkeling with Premium Open Bar cost?
+
Prices start at $45 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Small Group Punta Cana Snorkeling with Premium Open Bar take?
+
Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.
Is Small Group Punta Cana Snorkeling with Premium Open Bar worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Small Group Punta Cana Snorkeling with Premium Open Bar?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Small Group Punta Cana Snorkeling with Premium Open Bar suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Small Group Punta Cana Snorkeling with Premium Open Bar?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Small Group Punta Cana Snorkeling with Premium Open Bar start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?
+
On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Punta Cana Buggy or ATV Tour with Macao Beach, Cave and Tastings, Buggy Excursion to Macau Beach and Natural Cave. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Punta Cana?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
