  2. Hoa Lu Temples of the Dinh & le Dynasties

There are two 17th-century temples, modeled after their 11th-century originals that are on most itineraries to Hoa Lu. They are Dinh Tien Hoang Temple and Le Hoan Temple, dedicated to the founder of the Dinh Dynasty and its successor, reachable after a climb of more than 200 steps. As the capital of the country for 41 years, Hoa Lu has many palaces, pagodas, tombs, and pavilions that were built by different dynasties. One of the most popular pieces of architecture is the Bao Thien Tue Palace, which was plated with gold and silver. However many vestiges have been destroyed due to time and weather. The tour guide will introduce and explain every detail of the History and Culture of this palace. Please do not hesitate to ask him for any questions.

  4. Trang An Landscape Complex

Situated near the southern margin of the Red River Delta, the Trang An Landscape Complex is a spectacular landscape of limestone karst peaks permeated with valleys, many of them partly submerged and surrounded by steep, almost vertical cliffs. Exploration of caves at different altitudes has revealed archaeological traces of human activity over a continuous period of more than 30,000 years. They illustrate the occupation of these mountains by seasonal hunter-gatherers and how they adapted to major climatic and environmental changes, especially the repeated inundation of the landscape by the sea after the last ice age. Enjoy your boat trip and immerse in the Heritage with our local rolling man.

  5. Mua Caves

Hiking to the highest peak at Hang Mua Viewpoint (also known as Mua Cave) is one of the best things to do in Ninh Binh! Inside this destination, you have time to relax at a coffee shop or trekking on the Dragon Peak to have an overview of Halong Bay On Land and the beautiful site of Ninh Binh province. The cave itself is not that spectacular but it’s the incredible 360-degree views from the Hang Mua viewpoint that make this a very popular place to visit. I have put together this complete guide to the Mua Cave hike and its viewpoint, including how to get there, how much it costs, countless Mua Cave photos, and what to expect when you arrive.

The most well thought out trip organiser

I met Lee, directly in her office space in Old Quater, Hanoi. We planned the entire Itenary for our trip based on her advise and she was spot on with every suggestions. We booked 2 trips with her one for Ninh Binh and another for Ha Long Bay. While, we also wanted to also book a planned trip for SaPa but she suggested us to book a night bus to SaPa and rent a motorbike to explore the city and visit Fansipan. Which was the best advise we got as we loved riding around the city. Not only was the booking experience hassle-free, she geniunely wanted us to have the best experience possible. 100% would recommend to anyone visiting Hanoi. He also gifted us a souvenir to take back home at the end of our trip. 🥹

The trip was so good. The guide was very informative on Vietnam history. We visited temple, we did cycling, had boat trip. All of them was so nice. I loved cycling there. It was raining sometimes but I prefer it than sun :D and they provided single use rain panchos. The lunch was also yummy

Magical

I got to do this trip via my hostel. I really enjoyed it, especially the little bike ride among the mountains and the scenery that we could view from the top of a mountain at the Dancing cave. Ninh Binh is truly a magical place, and this trip showed it to me.

Small Group Ninh Binh: Hoa Lu & Trang An & Mua Cave: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.

How much does Small Group Ninh Binh: Hoa Lu & Trang An & Mua Cave cost?

+

Prices start at $68 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Small Group Ninh Binh: Hoa Lu & Trang An & Mua Cave take?

+

Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.

Is Small Group Ninh Binh: Hoa Lu & Trang An & Mua Cave worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Small Group Ninh Binh: Hoa Lu & Trang An & Mua Cave?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Small Group Ninh Binh: Hoa Lu & Trang An & Mua Cave suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Small Group Ninh Binh: Hoa Lu & Trang An & Mua Cave?

+

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Small Group Ninh Binh: Hoa Lu & Trang An & Mua Cave start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Hanoi?

+

On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hanoi?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hanoi?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
